Just my opinion, but This is what happens when you lose to SJSU. People are rightfully holding off to see if we handle NMSU before committing hundreds of dollars to watch WSU mop the floor with us if we crap the bed against NMSU.

Hopefully the numbers will come around but probably not as much as we would like if we leave Las Cruces with a season opening loss. We really need to beat New Mexico St. If not, we could potentially be looking at a 1-4 record heading into October which would be disastrous.

UW does a horrible job promoting everything. That said, they shouldn't have to promote this one...there should be a solid crowd. Agree with other posters that walk-ups will make / break it, and that will hinge on the outcome of the NMST game.gopokes1399 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 15, 2018 4:43 pm Is it just me or does it seem like the university is doing a poor job of promoting this game? It is the perfect weekend and a great kickoff time yet there is a lot of tickets still available... way too many

I bought two today and they were 60 a piece just for the knothole section. They would have been 80 to get decent seats. The price prob won't affect attendance but it still seems expensive.

Gotta pay Coach Bohl to win games, but I agree how UW tickets have sure gone up over the years, guess that's what we gotta do to be in D1 anymore(not saying anything's wrong with it, except on the wallet)

WOW! I didn't realize single game tickets had gone to that price. That does concern me of pricing out families.Pokes fan 24-7 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 17, 2018 1:30 pm I bought two today and they were 60 a piece just for the knothole section. You don't think that will affect attendance? Prices me and my family out of the game. Makes me sad that I can no longer afford to attend Wyo football games unless its Wofford or San Jose St.Pokes fan 24-7 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 17, 2018 1:30 pm I bought two today and they were 60 a piece just for the knothole section. Agree. It sucks. Wyoming football should be for the people. Why do we have to be greedy liked everyone else?roozy wrote: ↑Sun Aug 26, 2018 9:15 amYou don't think that will affect attendance? Guessing it has to do with budgeting and rising costs in general for the program. Our coaching staff is better paid than ever before by quite a margin, and that's not cheap.LanderPoke wrote: ↑Sun Aug 26, 2018 10:24 amAgree. It sucks. Wyoming football should be for the people. But yeah, it sucks. Going to be hard to justify going up to Wyoming for $200+ for just tickets when you can catch an AHL game in Loveland for half that.

Well, doesn't affect me too much again this season...
Had to have a 4th ankle surgery, and my ankle is in a cast for 4 weeks. But I'll be catching all the games I can.

Do you want cheap tickets or a successful program? Tickets help pay for coaches, recruiting, facilities, etc. So it's gotta be one or the other, can't have both.
BTW, I agree that it sucks, but it's the nature of the beast now.

Do you think Wyoming Athletics exist in some kind of temporal bubble that shields them from the rising costs of D1 sports? How do you think all of these shiny new facilities, upgrades, and competitive coaches' salaries get paid for?LanderPoke wrote: ↑Sun Aug 26, 2018 10:24 amAgree. It sucks.
