Zane Stull leaves the team

Walk on freshman Zane Stull left the team.

Bummer, but in terms of wins and losses, I don't think it matters.

Wish him luck. It probably isn't fun being a walk-on on a team like this.

He has played like 5 minutes all season, and probably didn't think the ends justified the means.

Thats a shame. How many kids now have left Shyatt's program?

Honestly who cares if a walk on leaves the team? Wish him well personally but Shyatt never recruited him in the first place so no big deal if he leaves as he wasn't supposed to be playing in the first place.

As far as people leaving the team that Shyatt recruited himself I think only one has left the team and someone can correct me if I am wrong.

I will edit this : There has been two that I can think of that were scholarship players. Walk on's don't count. Lekan Ajayi and Tyrone Marshall

Shakir Smith as well, although he was kicked off.

All 3 were from Shyatts first class that had to be out together late.

The rate of attrition has slowed considerably compared to Schroyer and McClain. Last spring was the first one that I can remember going back a decade that did not have someone leave.

I only consider scholarship players to be relevant to attrition rates.

Perhaps thats the problem. Should walk on's (who have actually played some, even minor minutes) be looked at as any less of a contributor to the program? I suggest not. I don't care if they are a scholly player or a walk on. Its a shame because he represented the University and contributed to this program.

One-Smooth-Poke, you are just looking for any reason you can to complain. Everyone knows it. It's not even a hidden agenda, it's just what you do.

To answer you own dumb question about whether a walk-on leaving is less important than a scholly player leaving, just ask yourself this: Is this as big of a deal as if Josh Adams or Larry Nance left? Hell no.

This doesn't matter in ANY way to our team.

Zane Stull wants to be a basketball coach when he is done with his career, that's why he came to play for Shyatt. His 5 points and 4 minutes won't be missed.

But, but --- now who is going to wash the jocks, press the uniforms, and clean the scuff marks off the shoes?

He got home sick and will try to walk on at Nebraska. And walk-on's shouldn't expect or be given special treatment. Walk on gives a kid an opportunity to show what the can do.

what did he expect, on such a deep team?? Go be a bugeater, but thanx for tryin

I am sure he isn't leaving for playing time. He is a walk-on and surely understands the role. Might be homesick or something similar.

P.S. Deep team? We only go 7 deep (maybe 8 with TWIII) with only 2 frontcourt players total.
