There's a lot of background chatter in the low-level, post-season white noise about an unusually high attrition rate among this this season's freshmen and sophomores in the next six-nine months...

Brett is very good, but so are Sean Mannion and Cody Vaz.

Yes, but out of the 3, who would you rather have?

Mannion who reminds me of Brett Favre, can sling the ball a million miles but also throws a lot of picks.
Vaz, is a solid QB in the pocket, not quite the arm of mannion but can scramble a lil bit.
Smith, can launch the ball and can run. And his scrambling lasts longer than vaz which opens up more deep threats.
Plus, Smith as we all know has that X Factor. That competitive drive.
