Wyoming vs Oregon State
I think a lot of us struggled to watch a flat effort, and I was up in the air writing a blog because it didn’t feel like there was much to write about. I watched a video of UNI Coach Schwab talking to his team about a rough weekend and his team going 0-2. Added to that was Coach Branch sending a picture to X riding a horse out in the prairie taking some reflection. My son Jameson continues to ask me when the Cowboys play again; he will ask me to pull up old videos and watch and cheer just like they are live in action. It was mentioned to me that it is better to have these “efforts” in Jan vice March when everything is on the line.
We as fans (a lot of us are coaches in sports) have a hard time with effort. Losing is terrible and stings, but when you lose to a team you should beat because the effort is not 100% then the sting feels like hand sanitizer in a paper cut! Wyoming has three home duals left, and kudos to the fans making it a standing room only on Saturday at the UniWyo. Regular starters Gabe and Jared have three more opportunities to hear the roar of the crowd for them; I could think of nothing better to go 3-0 at home for them. Coach Branch how about an autograph line for kids after the NDSU or AFA dual?
Back to the dual, Luke Willochel is finding his grove and appears really relaxed in matches at 133. Look for him to continue to get better as March approaches. Eddie Neitenbach is 4-0 against the PAC-12 and looks to be healthy again after an illness; he brings his lunch pail to every match. Christian Carroll is such a fun wrestler to watch and love to see a HWT guy with that much action for the Cowboys just another tech-fall for him.
Wyoming hosts a double header this weekend, Friday at 6 pm MT against AFA and Sunday at 1pm MT against NDSU. Be sure to pack the UniWyo and for those of you out of the area check back to the themw.com for those FREE streams. This week’s picture first reminded of Rocky, “I Didn’t Hear no Bell!” but realize that may go over some younger folks so went with the South Park version to reach all the generations. Four more duals with three being at home, let’s go 1-0 on Friday.
