Wyoming vs. Nebraska Preview [WyoNation Blog]

I have just posted the official WyoNation preview along with my score prediction. It will be a up hill battle for the Pokes but in college football you just never know. Perhaps Nebraska will get fumble happy (again).

What match-up do you think is most important? In my mind it is the Nebraska rushing attack versus the Wyoming from seven.

Our best corner Aaron Green....moved to safety? Did that really make sense to you when you typed that bad boy out? Also...pretty sure Aaron Green will be wearing Purple and Black come Saturday....

Honest mistake, Aaron Green and Andrew Green not the first time they have been confused they are brothers after all. I forgot that Bo ran Aaron off for no good reason. My apologies.

When the Cowboys Pass:

Brett Smith with 23 career starts under his belt has the most athletic and talented group of receivers Wyoming has had in years. The Husker secondary is in flux and may have as many as three new starters. With their best corner Andrew Green being moved to safety, The Cowboys should be able to make some plays in the air with Robert Herron, Dominic Rufran and Jalen Claiborne.

EDGE: COWBOYS

Is that really necessary? I view the Wyoming pass offense vs. NU's pass defense to be a wash at best for the Cowboys but this is just outright trolling, and the guy did a nice job putting together (imo) a pretty impartial and realistic preview. There's no need to come on their board and behave like this.

I think that the laughing is more for Andrew Green being our best corner...that honor would go to Ciante Evans...though he's listed as a nickel back.

Thing that most don't realize about the Husker secondary is most of them have been starters before...and when I mean most of them I mean like 80% of them have started 3 or more games. When it comes to the secondary, Nebraska is deep...and despite having 3-4 deep on all positions and regularly rotating those players....they were still a top 5 defense in the nation versus the pass.

Anyways, other than that...it was a pretty good preview.

Thank you HuskerLuke. The Husker fan base needs more people like you. Nebraska is not liked across the nation because their fans come off as arrogant and condescending just like these guys who feel the need to bash anything "anti-nebraska" on an opposing teams message board.

The Aaron Green who was 4th on the depth chart? I'm sure that had nothign to do with it.....kudos to you blogging about the game but a tad bit more research was in order. Andrew Green moved to safety because he couldnt crack the rotation at CB.

Yeah, how dare Mr. T not keep track of another team's full roster with players with very similar names that's not even in the same conference as us! Especially the great and mighty Nebraska Bugeaters! ALL HAIL THE BUGEATERS! ALL HAIL!

The spread has climbed up to -31 Nebraska. Wow. Wonder why its climbed 10 points higher in a one month?

It's best to let the big big school lay money and bet last minute. Wyo +30 would be no brainer in my opinion. I don't recall but Texas nor Nebraska has beat us by that much. Considering we will prolly score 21, I don't see Nebraska scoring 51. Wyoming will score 17-24.

My statement has nothing to do with "research" as you say. After watching a great number of Nebraska games, it is my opinion that Green is the best CB Nebraska has. Is my opinion different than yours or Bo's? Sure, but doesn't mean it isn't more valid because it is in fact my opinion.

Any validation you require was lost when blogged the incorrect name. If you watched so many Nebraska games one would think you would atleast be able to remember "the best" cornerbacks name. Considering Bo's specialty is secondary I have a feeling he may know who the best and who isn't the best cornerback is on the team. Green is better suited at safety with the depth we not have at the CB position...on the other hand safety depth is not great. That's why Green and Charles Jackson are now playing the safety position. Green's hips have never allowed him to be a great CB.....although you already know this considering you watch so many NU games. :willybs:

I think punters (Great Britain term for betting people) are realizing that it is going to be very hot at kickoff. The heat will favor Nebraska, of course, because they have been training in it, but more important, I think, it will favor them because of their depth.

#1. Quit being a dick on the Wyoming board.

#2. Andrew was moved to safety to get some experience at the safety position as is a vital position.

#3. Ciante Evans is or best cover corner, there really isn't any question about that.

#4. See #1.

I don't think depth will do Nebraska (or any opposing team) too much good this year with the fast paced offense we will be running. There will probably be a few "illegal substitution" penalties on opposing teams this year.
I also don't think the heat will favor Nebraska - nobody gets used to it and Wyoming may be better conditioned because we train at 7200 feet. Nebraska however may have more cooling equipment on their sideline than we do though.
