Wyoming HS products still playing

Did anyone notice that Natrona's Art Steward and Mountain View's Kyle Bullinger faced off last night for an automatic bid to the Big Dance? Steward averaged 29 minutes and 9 points per game for Montana this year and Bullinger put up 6 points and 23 minutes for Weber State. Last year his numbers were better.

The Big Sky is no Mountain West, but it is nice to see some local kids doing well. Also, it sure would have been nice to have another 6-6, 215 Small Forward to work with at times this year.

I have my heart set on the NIT. Also, unlike some, I am sure hoping to get a cut of the revenue from 4 conference teams in the dance rather than three. I also would really like to double the number of bids that Utah's Pac-12 gets and would like to see BYU stay home because they are now playing in a 2.5 team basketball conference. Chalk it up to spite.

Got the chance to see Steward and Bullinger play on Wednesday night (and vs each other the previous week).. I remember a sequence early in the Big Sky championship where Steward fouled Bullinger.. it was a Wyoming on Wyoming foul. Steward wasn't a huge impact player for Montana, but he sure came in handy a lot! Good rebounder, can hit the occasional 3, and isn't afraid to go down in the post and try to put a shot up.

In other words, like last year, he is a productive piece to their puzzle. It seems that there are at least 5 Wyoming high school products that have seen the court in D1 games this year and at least 3 start.
