Wyoming destroys UVSU on Senior Day

Wyoming with the win 32-6 over Utah Valley State on Senior Day (although there are no seniors in the Cowboys lineup)! The team is rolling now.

Harms comes up with a first period pin at heavyweight in his return to action. Although, UVSU has a good heavyweight wrestler that was sidelined.

Cox with a forfeit. UVSU does have a good 125 lb'er, but apparently he is out with an injury.

Stroh with a 4-0 win. If I was referee, I would have called about 10 stalls on the UVSU wrestler.

No he did not.

I see both sides of the argument for not putting in the senior on senior day. The best wrestler deserves to be in the lineup but also a senior that has put in so many years in the program also deserves a chance at the spotlight. Has to be a difficult choice for a coach.

It worked out for Wyoming as they got the win at 141 with Mendenhall.

Against UVSU I woulda started Komata.. the result wouldn't have mattered..

..on the other hand, Branch's Cowboys are on a hot streak.

It's easy to be on a roll when it's some small (almost community college) school that nobodys heard of.

Didn't see that sort of win against the big boys.

The wrestling world certainly knows of UVSU as that is the ONLY D1 team in a pretty decent wrestling state of Utah. Perhaps a bit of research before sounding foolish? I wouldn't be surprised to see UVSU with 2 all Americans.

Yes the team struggled against the best OOC dual schedule that Wyoming has ever faced.

Understand this is not Oklahoma State, but also understand that UW has no seniors in the line up.

Calling UVSU small? Not exactly. They have an enrollment of over 33K (as of three years ago) and maintain the only D1 wrestling team in the state of Utah.
