Wyoming Cowboy Basketball 2011/12

I doubt there is anyone out there saying the Pokes are the best team in the MWC right now, but come MWC tourney time there won't be any MWC teams who will be anxious to play Wyoming. It has been a looong time since we have seen a Cowboy team that can and has learned from their mistakes and improved in both the players and coaches the way this team has. From here on out, it's a one game season - the next game. They need and deserve our support more than we have shown in a long time. By the time the MWC tourney gets here, the sports media are going to know about this Wyoming team.
I'm off my soapbox now, but I plan to be at the game on Saturday unless the roads are closed.

A writer that seriously hasn't watched any UW basketball or is stupid as fuck. Anyone with a brain knows our SoS and OOC was not strong enough to even Warrant 1 vote to top 25 respect. This gut is a tool and has no business reporting anything about Wyo athletics.

I disagree with this writer about Shyatt not getting any respect/recognition in the basketball world. Just watch the opponent's coaches and officials before the games when they come over to Shyatt to shake his hand. You didn't see that with the previous coaches. And Noah thought enough of him to come out to Laramie to be here for the "Night of Madness" before his first game.
When is the last time you saw the national sports media & coaches give the University of Wyoming the respect it deserved until it was shoved down their throats (and that includes polls). We dug ourselves a deep hole the last decade though.

I don't know who the writer is. However, he makes a few valid points. Our OOC schedule was incredibly weak, I believe it was rated 313th out of about 330 d1 schedules. And, I hate to say it, but he is right on the mark when he states that we don't more than about 3 players who could make the team at SDS or UNLV or probably even NM, for that matter.

I think Shyatt is doing a hellavu job with what he has. But I don't think we will know how good he is this time around until year 3, when his players start to make an impact in the system. Since he recruited Josh Davis and company, I think it's fair to say that he was a very good recruiter.

However, the writer states that Shyatt received no other D1 head coaching offers. I didn't think that was true. Plus, didn't he take a pay cut to come here? Regardless of how good this team is, I enjoy watching them play and will be there tomorrow hoping we kick some sheep butt!
