The season continues on.....things do not get a whole lot easier this week. Boise has been hampered by injuries like nobody's business this season. 9-12 starters have been out various times. They did however have a bye last week, so some guys may be back. Obviously Southwick will not, but it doesn't seem to matter. Grant Hedrick may in fact be better.

The spread is at -22 Boise right now. Wyoming has this weird thing going on of playing the Broncos more competitively in Boise than it does at WMS. The Bronco defense is very young (freshman starting everywhere) and has flat out sucked this season. That should bode well for the Cowboy offense, assuming they play hard this week. That said, morale seems to obviously be low for the Pokes. I've seen bad performances this year from Wyo, but that 2nd half on Saturday was the first time I saw a genuine lack of effort from the team. I hope that was the last of that.

I think the Pokes cover the spread, but not by much. Ajayi rushes for a ton of yards in route to Boise winning.

Did some research....Wyoming has never scored more than 17 points on Boise. Obviously you hope for the win, but it would be nice if the Pokes could at least knock that trend down for once. If they can't score points on this Boise defense, they'll never put up a solid total.

The problem as I see it is that the opposing defensive coordinator has an easy job. The Pokes will come out with a scheme and do well in the first quarter. Then the opposing DC has it figured out. But Dave doesn't. He keeps repeating the same or nearly the same sequences. The Boise DC knows exactly what to do. Game over after quarter one. Opponent knows that no adjustments are going to be made by Wyoming.

I think at this point most of the players, much like most of us, just want this season to end. The Texas State game was the beginning of the end for this team. Boise wins by whatever they want to score to 20.

I remember the Mizzou fans saying they thought Dave was a great OC but that his problem was scripting too many plays and not adjusting to the defense. Those words burn 5 years later.
