Well...we are "that" game for MSU.
Start time is at noon, Michigan time.

MSU will be looking to embarrass us on homecoming.

Kind of early for a homecoming game. Got in the car...drove around the block and came back home.

It's their 4th game of the season. So kinda early, but not terribly early.
I just looked at their schedule and found a common opponent.
Michigan State plays at Oregon this season. September 6th, the week before we do.

So...if we were hoping we could out power the Ducks, catch them off guard...haha yeah right. They will have played the Varsity version of our JV team the week before.

I guess we can hope that Michigan State injuries half of the Ducks main players, and we can beat the Ducks that way?

I remember playing an SEC team (Tennessee) on their homecoming a few years back.

That Tennessee game and this Michigan State game have absolutely zero things in common with the exception that it is a homecoming game.

One is early in the season, the other was late.
One is a Big 10 team, the other was an SEC.
One is the defending Rose Bowl champs, the other was a program that was heading downhill real fast.

Totally different.
I'm sure there have been many times we were a homecoming game for some other schools. Maybe New Mexico, or Air Force or UNLV?

Back in the mid-1980s, OU had it's first home game of the year as Homecoming.

When it comes to scheduling events like Homecoming, nothing surprises me.

The only reason we beat them was that they gave up on their coach AND the Vols were much worse than we were.

I'm still impressed they had over 90K for that game. As bad as they were, they still had the amount of people it takes us 4 games to get in a good year!

In the south, football is a religion. Going to a game is like going to church.

Oh I know. That's why the SEC dominates. That's why the Pac12 dominates. That's why the Big10 and Big12 and ACC to an extent dominate. The fact that we need 6 games to get as many people as 1 SEC game and SEC Spring Game is one of the reasons Wyo football is not anywhere near those guys.

Really? That game was in November. That would be the latest homecoming game I've ever heard of.

It was indeed Homecoming.

Every school tries to schedule a cupcake for Homecoming. Hence the reason, we scheduled New Mexico last season.

Notice, I said TRIES to. Not succeeds in it every year.

Good thing we're not playing the same team that won the rose bowl. Every year is a new team. Not saying we'll win or even compete but you never know

I'm pretty sure they return like 90% of their team. Meanwhile, we just had our most successful NFL draft in how many years?

You never know, you are right. But, sometimes your gut feeling is right.

The draft and the quality of our football team last year have zero resemblance. We had some good players and some shitty coaches. Next year we'll have good players and better coaches.

One thing is for sure, Bohl's team won't consist of a bunch of pussies who'd rather lay on their backs and piss all over themselves than think they can win every game they play.

I was under the impression thar J-Rod was talking about the noon start local time. Maybe I'm wrong though.

Doesn't change the fact that they were a B_S team with a whole bunch of "4 & 5 star" players.

That doesn't matter to Beaver. He constantly likes to keep Wyoming where they belong in his mind AND when someone does post suggestions or visions on how to improve the program they are considered delusional; that it can't happen because we are Wyoming. Thank god you don't work in our Athletic Department.

Are you new here? I have forever been labeled the optimist about our football team. Because I know that Tennessee team and this Michigan State team are totally different means I like to keep Wyoming where they belong? :thumb:
