You realize that they get money even if they don't go to a BCS game right? If Oregon or USC goes to the BCS game this year, they get the cash and only have to split it amongst the conference. If Utah, TCU, or BSU go to a BCS game they have to split it up with all the non-AQ schools.

Yes I think most people know that. But you didn't respond to any of the points I made in my last post. I'm just curious as to your thoughts.

As calpoke stated, ya, I know that. Even more reason the PAC10 (or whomever) will not want the piece of pie to shrink. And after all...TCU doesn't fit (too far - Texas), and neither does BYU (the Sunday thing), so that leaves the Eewts...and maybe Boise? And that logically speaking will NEVER happen. Stanford, Cal, UCLA would be instant and automatic "no-thank-yous"!

Oh, and, Utah has indeed been solid since Urban first arrived, no doubt. But 6 or 7 years of solid, doesn't mean much. It wasn't long ago Utah was horrific...and it won't be long again until horrific comes around again. Watch as Utah stays the same, and everyone around them gets better...welcome soon to not being bowl eligible.

With Whitt running things that's not going to happen, you really think we'll never reach 6 wins. Child Please, get bowl elidgible then come with that weak smack!

Given the way Utah is recruiting and the program that has been established, they will likely be bowl eligible in the coming years. But success, as I have said, is fleeting. Look at Alabama - it hasn't been five years since they were in the toilet. Look at Nebraska - they clearly have work to do, and they were national champs just 10 years ago. In this competitive era - and with teams in the MWC answering the bell to get better to match Utah - it only takes one slip, one lost recruit, loss of a key coach...will it happen in the next five years? Who knows. But ask CSU how the tumble from the top looks...and it didn't take that long for them to fall, even with their legendary head coach still at the helm...same goes for LaVell and BYU.

And you are absolutely right, we have no room to talk, YET. If we win a couple here and there, respect will follow. My only gripe is the ad hominem attacks (baseless at that) on the academic side of UW and the "spending like a lottery winner" discussion on Utefans.
