You guys are ridiculous!
Some people acting like this game actually mattered?
People acting like the season is going to be bad because of a pre-season game?
Holy hell.....
Our back-ups were in the majority of the game.
There was no intensity. That was a practice. A glorified practice and you guys are freaking out that much.
Wyoming fans are nuts.

Just wait til next Friday when you see the real team out there. The difference between the 2nd half of last night and the real season opener are going to be night and day.

I agree. Our starters had a huge lead at halftime. The younger guys and the backups played the entire second half. I wouldn't pay too much attention to the final score.

Thank you! I couldn't agree more. Our fan base is crazy sometimes. Three of the five on the floor the second half had never spent a second in a college basketball game. I thought all things considered, they did good. Trey Washington is going to be good, really good. Keonta Vernon looked lost and a little overwhelmed but with that being said, I loved, LOVED that for an undersized "big man" he always got himself into dominate positions for rebounds, defense, etc. Alan Herndon has a nice looking shot and has potential to be good but needs some weight badly. I thought the freshman looked good. I thought granberry was pushing too hard early on but love his attitude. He'll be a good addition this year. Again, it's an exhibition game, WE'LL BE FINE

Vernon is not afraid to get in there and be physical, but he plays a little too physical at times (never thought I'd say that about a true freshmen), and he just needs to relax more when at the free throw line.

But I wouldn't mind if he tried being a linebacker...

I'm not going to get to freaked out or upset over last nights game. Teams like Syracuse have lost exhibition games to nobody teams in the last few years and ended up being top 5 teams in the country and last year I remember UNLV struggling in an exhibition.
Hopefully Hankerson will be a big compliment to Nance and that will give us one extra piece of depth off of the bench.

i agree and I'm not over reacting at all just stating what I saw, I do like what I see and we should be fine the rest of the way, Papa Shyatt is a hell of a teacher and will still get the most outta his players. Gonna be fun yet again

I haven't seen anybody change their predictions for the season. I predicted 18 wins and postseason and I still predict the same.

The game did make me reconsider what I thought some of the minute distributions would be:

Pokes gave up 40 points in just over 11 minutes to close the game to a D2 squad (that's a 140 ppg pace).

Larry Shyatt is still the head coach at Wyoming

How much playing time do you think those players will see in a real game?

Shyatt can put up with poor shooting and general cluelessness on offense, but being out of position on D? Yeah, that's not going to work for Papa Shy.

I don't think we will have a very deep rotation when it counts.

Doesn't change really for the bench in my mind how I saw the rotations. I expect herndon to redshirt or play very little. TW3 is gonna get plenty of play time. Vernon might not play as much as I thought he would but I never really expected much from him. Granberry will still paly much and Bentz still won't play too much. Those were the players that were in during the end of the game. Those guys didn't play well when they were all in together but that lineup will never happen in a real game. They will be mixed in with starter/veteren guys.

We are still gonna be deeper than we have been since shyatt got here.

This year....I think he will be really good. Can contribute maybe some this year but needs some time. In my very limited opinion whcihc doesn't matter for much.
