Will we see any progress to Billyball at altitude this year?

The thing I've learned about Larry Shyatt: it's likely the defense is going to show up.

Last year, we didn't see a lot of fast break/pressure ball. Are we going to see more with the new recruiting class? We've got a lot more guys that can flat out run with Nance, Cooke, and Adams. The presence of Adams is going to give us more break out dunks then last year. It seems like we've got a lot of guys with length and athleticism.

What do you think Wyoming fans? Will we see more fast break offense out of this years Pokes squad?

I'm more worried about seeing better fundamentals on the offensive end than I am run 'n' gun. Defense has been solid, but we really need to see a team that can consistantly shoot 35%+ on the arc, 45%+ total, and 80%+ from the line. Ball handling needs to improve by a lot, too.

You could see discipline on offense last year. We might have shot poorly last year. I attribute a lot of that to depth. Our guys played so many minutes that their legs faded during the stretch. I wouldn't be surprised to see us struggle from the free throw line early. We're a young team and the only thing that helps shooting free throws is to shoot more free throws. As long as we're smart and disciplined offensively, I'm willing to be patient as our kids get more experience.

I think we will see more fast break basketball though. I don't expect it to be a focus of the team, just people that are better equipped to take advantage of opportunities. I don't think it will become an offensive focus until next season at the earliest. Adams excels at exploding down the court and attacking the rim. With long athletic guys trailing in Nance, Cooke, and company: I just see us being better at it without even having to focus on it.

I realized that I didn't answer your question with my first post. I do think that we'll see more fast break ball because we are more athletic this season. Should be exciting to watch! :thumb:
