Why are Neb fans on a high horse

First of all, had we not given them Bob Devaney, where would they be? And where would we be? They had 2 winning seasons in 2 decades before we gave them Devaney. Secondly, this team just ran away from Texas. I rooted for Nebraska in the 90's. But then they fired Solich, Hired Callahan, and ended up running away from Texas. I now see them as cowards. There is no spinning or sugarcoating or making excuses. They couldn't compete with Texas. So they simply ran away like big babies. I recall Nebraska saying we refuse to watch the Big 12 tilt towards Texas and Oklahoma. The big 12 north was becoming a joke. Everyone I talked to (down here in Oklahoma) said the MWC was stronger than the Big12 north. The sad thing is no one in Oklahoma has thought much of Nebraska football in over a decade. This includes OSU fans. It's all about Texas and OU nowadays.
So why is Nebraska on such a high horse?
This is Nebraska that was lucky to beat Washington last week (thx refs), struggled against Fresno St the week before, barely beat South Dakota State Jackrabbits last year, and allowed mighty colorado to dump 65 on them a few years ago. And you still hear them talk about the "blackshirts" lol. This is Nebraska that is 72-51 since like 2000. I don't think Wyoming has the recruits to beat them yet, but rest assured Wisconsin will run over them the following week. What exactly has Nebraska done in the last 15 years besides runaway from Texas for the fans to act this way? From 1975 to Present Nebraska beat Texas...wait for it..... 1 time ? Maybe running away was a good idea.

We have played in Big XII Championship games. We have left a historically good football conference and were accepted into the MOST prestigious football conference in America, the Big Ten. And what makes you think we're on a high horse? Do the thoughts of Nebraska fans, most of whom represent a speck of our overall fan base, convince you to stereotype the rest of Nebraska fans. Considering the only BCS national title the Big 10 won was under a coach who was fired, and I believe, forced to vacate, yeah.

Not too many people will argue that Nebraska is historically one of the top FB programs ever. Some would say top 3 and I bet there would even be some non-Nebraska fans saying that they could well be number one, historically...

The past decade this has not been the case. Their record is usually good as they pad it with non-power conference (AQ) teams and even FCS teams. Not too agressive for one of the top programs of all time. But it makes their record look good. Against teams from power conferences they're around 10 games over .500, or one game over .500 per year. To me they look like a middle of the pack AQ team. Nebraska had to leave the Big 12 as they were getting hammered by Oklahoma and Texas on a yearly basis winning only one of the last eleven! I'm afraid they'll be in for more of the same in the Big 10, except replace Texas and Oklahoma with Ohio State and Michigan. It's nice that they're playing a MWC team, but it's a middle of the conference team and not TCU or Boise State. Playing TCU or Boise State would go against their winning formula.

Nebraska used to be a leviathan now I'd say they're more like a small shark or a large minnow.
