Who would YOU want to see UW play?

Wyokie started a good topic a few minutes back.....thought I'd throw another out.

If you could pick 1-10 college football opponents you'd like to see Wyoming play in the future, who would they be? No restrictions apply. Feel free to be selfish. I would try to refrain from the obvious conference opponents though.

Mine....

I'd love to see Wyoming play Montana. UM is often over-looked in the mountain region as a football program and really shouldn't be. A UM-UW game would be awesome. Forget Weber State.

NDSU(Again)

Texas Tech (would love to see a long term rivalry with them)
Notre Dame
Florida State
California (a win would be sweet revenge for the 1990 Copper Bowl loss)
 
Nebraska (I know, they are on our plate, I would like to see us play them regularly)
Kansas State (for personal reasons)
Oklahoma State (that Holiday Bowl still sticks in my craw)
Arizona St (Erickson, you bastardo!)
Indiana (my other alma mater)
Ole Miss (loved the first two games we had with them and their fans are great)
Colorado (just because)
Army (I'm Army)
Navy (I'm Army)
An Ivy league school (just for kicks)
 
Nebraska (School that isn't too far away that we have a series with)
CU (Need to get them to come to Laramie, as they have never played in WMS)
OK State (Cowboy rivalry?)
LSU (revenge for the 1968 Sugar Bowl)
Army/Navy (why not?)
ASU (old WAC rivals)
Utah (next to CSU, we've played them the longest and were in the same conference since the 1920s I think).

I swear Wyoming had a game with LSU set up in the past....Whatever happened to that?

We were supposed to play at LSU, I think, last year but we cancelled the contract sometime around 2005.

I agreed with the decision to cancel the game.

Arkansas (See Florida State and SCAR. I really hate those arrogant SEC bastards)
Colorado (Because everyone likes beating up on the greenie schools)
Arizona (My mom's half of the family all live in/around Tucson)
Arizona State (My brother went to school there for a minute and needs to see they aren't all he thinks they are)

Two things.

1. OSU came up with the logo in the 1920s to honor a local hero. But Wyoming got the copyright.

2. Florida State is in the ACC.

Thanks for the clarification. OSU game could still happen for the same reason (bragging rights are bragging rights), and Florida State could be our ACC whipping boy :thumb:

I'm curious as to why Wyoming doesn't play the Montana schools more often. Either team would field a competitive game. I know MSU came to UW in lik 2002, and I think Missoula was here in the 90s sometime. Seeing as the two states border each other it could become a good rivilry.

I don't see it being a rivalry at all. No disrespect to either Montana school, but I would like to see us quit playing FCS schools altogether. If the Montana schools move up and play with the big boys I would change my stance, but right now they just screw up our strength of schedule.
 
1. Tennessee (Fans there were great but we need to make them come to the "War"
2. Purdue (Joe Tiller Connection)
3. Clemson (Family went there, plus if we improve the ACC is overrated)
4. Big Least Team (Syracuse we can get revenge on them)
5. Texas Tech (would have been better when Leech was there)
6. Missouri
7. SMU (Up and coming team)
8. UTEP (old rivalry)
9. Oregon (would be a fun road trip even if we got beat bad)
10. NEVER BYU AGAIN OR ONLY IN LARAMIE!!!
 
I would like to see Wyoming play more Big-12 North teams on a regular basis, as I think culturally thats where we fit in the best in the BCS world. (Yes I know the Big 12 North doesn't exist anymore).

Other than that I'd love to see us play UCLA in the Rose Bowl.

2004 Las Vegas Bowl repeat, except it would be in the grandaddy of them all.
 
Play teams in my area (where I can easily drive to).

1. SMU (Getting a new, fast mondo something or other field turf).
2. TCU (when they are not in the MWC anymore).
3. North Texas
4. Baylor
5. Louisiana Tech (if 69er will go with me since it's probably 3 hours away).

6. California
7. Michigan State (someone I am/was close to makes me think about this match-up).
8. Northwestern
9. UCF
10. Western Kentucky (I always like to play "the new guy").

*If you play Texas A&M at Kyle Field you'll experience what is probably the best feel of the old Southwest Conference that I miss so much.
* Princeton ( if my Princeton was good enough to really compete in FBS then that would be fun).
* How about The Mean Machine from the movie The North Dallas Forty with Burt Reynolds?? (Their cheerleaders are so, umm?, fun).

Interesting considering we played both in the late 1970s.

We're 0-2 against Michigan State....

I like all your picks. Also, my parents are Hoosier alum. I would like to throw in South Carolina, Clemson, and Ohio State because my relatives in SC and Cincy talk about them all the time.
