Who is tired of the "this QB is better than that QB"

Seriously, there a couple of threads where we have people hating on Pittser and people hating on Brett Smith. My question is WHY...i'm so freakin sick of it!!!!!! Bottom line is that we have two QB's on the roster that are more talented than ACS was his frosh year. One was an Elite 11 MVP runner up who has had multiple coaches from that event tell us he is a future NFL QB. The other has experience running a spread attack in high school, is strong as hell and seems to me tough as nails, and was also the Oregon Gatorade Player of the Year in Oregon!! Why not just cheer for them to push each other as hard as they can to make one another better and let the best man win! I'm sick of people trashing on these two kids- they both have lots of talent and I don't care who starts as long as the one that does can perform on the field like he did to win the spot in practice!

+100 ..... It is pretty stupid to start threads about who is better than the other and also the "I told you so" threads.

As Wyoming fans we should be rooting for all 3 QB's to play great and do their best not try and throw any of them under the bus. Hopefully people will stop the thrashing as I am sure all 3 of our QB's are friends on the team and want to see each other do well even though they are in competition with each other. :thumb:

theman, I dont understand why you're ranting and raving on here so much. Seems to me what the point of the thread was "just get behind whoever the QB is and support them." I assume that one QB is getting the reps with the #1s for a reason. Since practices are closed, we dont really know what that reason is. So I think we should just chill out and support whoever is behind center.

Been saying this from the first time "theman" posted about Pittser "not getting a fair chance," "theman" is a troll and should be promptly kicked, rather hard, in the balls for his endless rants.

In other news, the MWC board is kind of going into meltdown mode over disagreements on who is being targeted by which conference due to some random factor. I'm getting to the point where I don't care if we ever see half of those teams again, with all the bull they're pulling out of their asses.

I'M STARTING THE HATE SMITH THREADS? PLEASE SHOW ME.. I HAVEN'T SEEN ANY. THE TRUTH IS I LIKE SMITH FROM WHAT I'VE SEEN SO FAR AND WOULD NOT BE UPSET IF HE STARTS AND ACTUALLY GIVEN THE FACT THAT HE WAS HERE EARLIER THAN THE REST HE PROBABLY SHOULD START.

MY OPINION ABOUT SMITH IN NO WAY CHANGES THE FACT THAT NOBODY KNOWS WHO IS PERFORMING BETTER UNTIL THEY ALL PLAY WITH THE SAME UNIT AND AGAINST THE SAME UNIT.

THE WHOLE POINT OF MY THREADS IS TO DRIVE THAT POINT HOME.

BRETT SMITH WILL OUTPERFORM ANY QB IN THE WORLD INCLUDING PEYTON MANNING IF HE RUNS THE #1 OFFENSE VS THE BENCHWARMER 2ND STRING DEFENSE AND MANNING IS RUNNING THE BENCHWARMING 2ND STRING OFFENSE VS. THE #1 STARTING DEFENSE.

GOT IT YET? THERE IS NO BASHING THE QB'S. I LIKE EM ALL.. IF I'M BASHING ANYONE, ITS THE WRITERS, POSTERS AND ALL MEDIA WHO SAYS ONE QB IS OUTPERFORMING THE OTHERS IN THE SCRIMMAGES.
 
Starting QB is established in Practice where they all get their shots. get it. Scrimmages are important and play a role but to me the practices are where the real action is.

I am sure they are all getting their shots in practice
 
it seems to me that theman is half of the problem that this thread is complaining about..he's a pittser guy, i have seen smith guys that are just as bad

personaly i am a pittser fan because i feel that he could be the most talented wyoming qb i've seen in my lifetime, however come 9-3 i will be SCREAMING MY HEAD OFF for whomever is sporting brown and gold on jonah field


mostly i'm just excited that we have a coach, that hardass as he may be, can really seem to sell some top talent on coming to laramie
 
Frankly, I'm for any of the QBs we have that can win games and hit open recievers, correctly read the option, and be a team leader. Right now, Smith has an advantage because he ran a similar system in high school for 4 years, and led his team to the state championship 3 times, even with a broken arm one year. Plus, he's had Spring Practice to get a jump start on the playbook and system as a whole.

Pittser has a lot of talent and upside, however, he ran a Wing T offense in high school where he would only throw the ball a handfull of times, compared to Smith who threw it much more often. That alone is a disadvantage for Pittser, but he's getting more used to the spread as evidenced by the last scrimmage. He has the arm, and overall ability to be great (only reason why he didn't have any big time offers was because he wasn't allowed to throw much in high school). Even if he doesn't make starter this year, he has a good chance to do it next year with the way DC runs things.

Capt. Kirk (never a Trekkie, but easier than butchering his name) will most likely play on the scout team, as his medium and longer throws are a problem, but short throws are decent (maybe good for practicing for the Air force game since they don't throw too much?). If he can improve though and become the starter, I'd be fine with him too.

Personally, I really don't have a horse in this race, but I have to give an advantage (for now at least) to Smith due to experience, spring practice, and overall performance. However, anything could happen between now and the the Weber State game. Hell, we could even get that Gabbert kid and he could start. I just want a return to the days where we can at least compete with even the best teams in the nation.
