The Eagles pick him up. I've heard from a few sources that Chip Kelly wants Brett Smith over Matt Barkley.

Makes sense but what round/FA?

4th round 122nd pick
Good system for Brett, Chip Kelly gets highly mobile and accurate backup qb that played in a similar offense, and Wyoming's best QB gets drafted.

I say 5th round earliest, but I wouldn't be shocked to see him as an undrafted Free agent. Should have stayed for his senior year, this class has a lot of of Qbs and I believe he would've been a 3rd rounder as a senior.

Johnny Football has surprised the pundits by not going yet. This is not good news for Smith, IMO, since he is being compared to Johnny. If another QB goes before Johnny, I predict Bret not drafted, but shows up later at Denver.

Smith has been compared to Johnny. Just as versatile, but without the surrounding cast. No excess baggage.

Johnny will get picks because of his hype...

I'm watching the draft tonight. I'm waiting for Dallas to pick and then I'm goin to the store for somethin and then come back.

Smith is also taller than Manziel is.

I'm starting to think Huff will go early in the 2nd round the safety position isn't very deep at all and the top 2 are gone.

Pittsburgh taking a linebacker instead of a DB kind of pissed me off last night. On the plus side, I've got my fingers crossed that Huff may land there tonight!

Gents, I am the least qualified to make draft predictions, but I don't think it bodes well for Brett Smith, especially since so many good quarterbacks are left after 3 rounds. I think the three teams he worked out for (if they are still interested) are willing to wait and take their chances that he goes undrafted, then try to pick him up as a free agent. I think Herron and Huff go by the end of round 6, but I just don't see Brett getting drafted. I hope I'm wrong.

I hope you are wrong, but fear you are right.

I want this for Brett. He is such a good and nice kid, I don't want him to be sitting there Sunday and regretting leaving Laramie, and potentially ruining his career before he started it.
If Brett had just finished his senior year, I wouldn't be as worried, because at that point he would have done EVERYTHING he could have to get drafted.
If he doesn't get drafted, then it could be a life-long mistake and regret.

C'mon Elway, take Brett tomorrow!

The Broncos added an extra 7th round. Brett should go higher, come on PFM you saw this kid..
Make this happen today for Brett

Sadly I get the impression that a mindset has emerged among collerge athletest that one has somehow failed or loss street cred if one does not declair early for the draft. Is it a ststus or image thing?

Not to piss anyone off but I dont see Denver taking Smith. They have been grooming Osweiler and drafted Dysert last year. Just dont see it.

Elway brought Brett in for a private workout.
The last two QBs he did that for were Osweiller and Dysert.
