What Is Wrong With Our Students?

In "my day" no CSU fan would have been allowed anywhere near the student section at a home UW football or basketball game. Let alone, bring in a couple of signs, sit right in the middle of the section, and raise hell all game. Have the UW students turned into a Yanni / Chardonnay type group? That was as embarrassing as the damn game.

And shame on the administration & ushers for not removing those visiting fans. Surely they don't have "tickets" to sit there...but they let it happen anyway. It could have gone sideways (although I have my doubts with this bunch).

:willybs:

The ushers did try to kick them out, but they had tickets to sit there. They were there with someone from UW and that person brought them to the game and bought them tickets.

i sat right next to them and saw 3 ushers come up and talk to them, everytime they checked tkts and said it was ok....it was like they were catering to them....it was all i could do from not pummelling those punks into the ground, but I'm older, wiser and a bigger man, I kept telling them to enjoy their ride cuz next year they sure as hell won't be back...it is/was truly pathetic but it didn't warrant getting kicked out of my home court or jail time, i'm too old for that shit. Sure our students razzed them but in my opinion it wasn't enough!!!!! like you...not in my day. then the punk after the game tried to butter me up....f...off punk

Obviously we have a flaw with our ticket department if that was the case. Well...ANOTHER flaw. That needs to be fixed so it doesn't happen. Same with the 2 or so rows behind the team bench we give away to visiting fans.

Anytime a UW student said something like "get the fuck out of our student section" those fuckin ushers would come up and tell them to be nice...yet those Cock Sucker University motherfuckers had a sign that said UW, keeping ugly girls out of CSU since 1886.

And yet the kids right in front of that fagget never held their big fuckin sign up to block it. That shit pissed me off. They can hold that shit up, rude as hell yet if one Wyo kid says anything about it, we get in fuckin trouble for using a swear word.
I can't fuckin stand the student section ushers.
Fuck those games, we can't have fun.
You get on the opposing team, you get thrown out. You get on the refs, you get thrown out. The only thing they want us to do is sit there and shut the fuck up.

The student sections should be GA-Students Only seating. No tickets issued for specific seats. Anyone in those seats must produce both the GA ticket AND student ID if asked by an usher. If students want to sit with guests/ parents, they can get non-student section seats.

We should do it like other schools do it. Sign up for your tickets. My brother goes to the University of Utah and to get student tickets to the M.U.S.S. (Mighty Utah Student Section) they all pay their fees, and get tickets. I think upperclassmen get priority tickets and it goes down to freshman.

We need a system so that the true student fans, the ones like BeaverPoke and YankPoke can go get their seat, and not some kids who don't even know any of the chants and never stand up sitting in row 2.
I don't mind the older guys like Stymeman sitting in the student section because he cheers more than most students, but idealy it would be a true student section with the bigger fans being down low. then let the kids who don't give a crap sit on their hands in the back.

On top of that, when I go to a game at the U of U, I have to pay him to get a MUSS guest ticket, or to buy a MUSS ticket off one of his friends close to him.

Oh yeah, and our students chanting alcoholic at larry eustachy.

We are soooo classy.

I have heard from many polls that we are the most classless or the least classy fans in the MWC, yet when I talk to older fans of other MWC teams they say we are totally nice and classy.

That just goes to show that our students are douchebags.

As for the student ticket situation we don't have enough demand for that right now. We can't even get the full allotment when they get in for free so we need to keep them free and that you don't have to get tickets. As for the guest tickets I personally don't have a problem with it as I bring my brothers up for games and that is really nice to be able to do. I think it is more of the culture that we need to make that a bad thing if you are bringing people from the other school and not a ticket issue. The ushers are complete douche bags as well. If you don't like cussing and such things don't be in the student section that is what they are all like and they need to let us do what we do. As for the alcoholic chant I was at least happy that somebody decided to get on him for his past issues may not be that classy but it shows at least some innovation and getting on the opposing fans and players.

The only real solution is to restrict the student section to students only. Must have a student ticket w/ student ID for admission, must produce both to remain seated there if asked by arena personnel. If the students want to carve out a reserved seating system within the student section, that's fine, but same applies- no one permitted in the student section without student ticket AND student ID.

I'm no where near the student section and I got reprimanded by a young even staff prick for yelling that the ref was a son of a bitch. Yet the older one we normally have cheers me on when I yell profanities

The students are getting their hands slapped in the national media for Ben Frederickson's tweet about them being classless for calling Eustachy an alcoholic..

That is pretty stupid, I have heard way worse chants than this. The fact is it is a rivalry game much worse stuff gets chanted than that and hey he was an alcoholic no problem pointing out the facts there.

Yeah it's been brought to my attention from collegues at work, how unclassy that was about chanting Alcoholic, sitting there listening to it, sure it's nasty and kinda bad, but people need to understand something, life happens, there's always going to be someone to say something that we don't like, we get back up, brush ourselves off and move on. The Stampede hands sheets out to the students, and on the bottom of this one, it had a picture of Larry partying with those college girls in Mizzou after a game and he got fired for it. Then it went into a bit of detail of how he liked partying after games etc....Does the Univ have to start policeing what is handed out to the students, do they have to start telling what's to be on our signs, what our t-shirts say. I understand how this was a bit out of hand, but really.....just because of the new PC in our society, people's feelings get hurt and if we complain about it there's a support group for it, the world is not always roses and clover. As long as people learn from their mistakes that's the true meaning of life. As long as LE is a head basketball coach at CSEwe(also maybe not PC either..lol), this may not go away when he comes to Laramie. I think he's a bigger man and knows what problems he has/had, he's paid his dues for it, and is a good basketball coach and teacher. But passion during the heat of the battle always shows itself at games, it happens at alot of major universities around the country, and I've always thought that barring racial slurs and death chants and not attacking family issues are hands off, chanting at games will and should be creative, clever and fun. It's motivation on all sides if done correctly, but it's never a perfect science. I just think we got too many do gooders, 2nd place deserves a prize type people out there, and could be a reason why our country has major issues in our social interactions. It's ok to talk smack on chat sites, facebook and twitter sites but when it happens to someone in person, then it's a problem. I guess I'm glad I grew up when I did, knowing there'd be nasty stuff said to me at times, and I'd have to take it, learn from it, confront it and dust myself off and move forward.
Again I don't condone it was said but the fuel was definetely there to keep the fire warm, and as long as info is out there, things happen. Yes it should probably be addressed, and we'll understand where we went wrong and perhaps fix it next time, but for people to judge people from the State of Wyoming we all are passonate, good people for the most part, like anywhere else, scum is scum. This one was taken out of context and this too shall pass!!!!!! GO POKES

really the only article that hits home and makes sense

My biggest problem is the censorship now. And how hypocritical it is.
Like I said, those CSU students in OUR student section had a sign that literally said...
UW
Keeping Ugly Girls Out of CSU Since 1886

There are tons of girls around in the student section, that don't need that shit. And it is just total disrespect.

But I can't drop the f-bomb or say what the hell when there is a horrible call. I say put that fuckin sign down and people are on my case again.

It's absolutely amazing to me.

We are classless for chanting "alcoholic" and "EVERY" conf teams fans can get away with chanting "BROKEBACK COWBOY" to us. So we call someone an alcoholic, and they call us GAY, where is the class? Someone needs to figure it out or just get over it.
Shoot BYU students chanted "BROKEBACK COWBOY" all game long in Provo a few years back, and they were kicking the crap out of us. If BYU can allow it, so can the rest of the Freakin world!

People need to stop being fucking pussies. Eustachy is a man and I doubt he gave a fuck or even said anything about it. The only people that give a fuck are super old people, Mormons and media. Need to find something to fill them papers, need something to create a buzz, need something to give me a name.

Back in the day, think 98-00 when there was only like 100 people at the cowgirl games, I called a BSU chick, that was shooting free throws, a dyke. It echoed throughout the AA and the whole court looked at me. It was classic. But the cowgirls knew who I was after that.

I thought about it during the game to go stand behind that fucker and steal the sign and tear it up. I wish I would have, but I didn't want to get in trouble.
CENSORSHIP worked on beaverpoke.

I really really wish I would have and now think if that situation came again, I would do it, but I probably wouldn't because of the ushers. They ruin the games for us. I don't know if I am gonna get kicked out, get arrested for some weak assault charge or theft charge cuz I took his sign or something.
