Speaking of this position, UW posted the opening today "Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing and Branding" on the NCAA jobs website.

I kinda want this job.

If you don't mind 96 hour work weeks for $42,000, working with a group consisted largely of idiots, and having no path out (or way to grow), go for it.

They should have put on the qualifications that you need to have an air of arrogance and shitty attitude, and also that you need to lack overall communication skills...or need not apply.
Have you worked for the University before?

Why thanks! While I may fit some of the qualifications (shitty attitude, air of arrogance, lack communication skills) - I am worth more than $8.41 per hour...and need some kind of runway / path to grow professionally.

:thumb:

So no. How do you know it's such a horrid place to work?

Many many connections, friends, peers have worked there over the last 30 or 40 years...including this most recent regime.
Word. Anyone know where all the athletic department people get those bitchin' nike brown and gold pullovers? Are they part of the compensation package? I want one

Which one are you talking about?
Their the nike quarter zip pullovers with a brown body and gold shoulders and sleeves

They did have those at B&G at some point. They also had them in a short sleeve pullover version.

They all get a very small attire package - each year.

You can get anything you see those folks sporting...for the most part. The Brown & Gold would be the starting point for sourcing any of it out.

False. At least false, you cannot get anything you see from a retail store.

I have not ever, ever, seen one thing that any coach or member of the AD has worn, that at some point, is not available for sale to the public (one way or another - including retail). They may not be "on the rack" right now, but they are (or will be) available.

And the Brown & Gold is a good starting point...as I mentioned...

And the Brown & Gold is a good starting point...as I mentioned...

-Nike Sweatless jacket worn by AD staff and basketball team
-Nike Wyoming Letterman jacket
-Nike Wyoming women's polos w/ yellow and brown stripped collar worn by women AD staff
-Nike Women's sweatshirts worn by women AD staff
-Nike waterproof 2.5 jacket worn by football coaches and ad staff
-Some of the Nike all gold polos worn by football coaches and ad staff

Those are just off the top of my head that never hit retail. The collection of clothing that is offered to retail is different than the selection offered through Nike Team reps to the coaching staff and ad staff. There are ways to get the Nike Team stuff, but delivery times on that is 3-4 months or sometimes even longer. For the average Wyoming fan, they cannot get a good chunk of the clothing that coaching and ad staff wear.

Hmm. I have never seen them. I am looking though. I have had no luck online either.

They might be long gone. The new Nike stuff is starting to show up.

This is fairly common practice at the collegiate level. A lot of times, coaches/administrators want gear that is restricted to their people and that the general public can't get their hands on. For example, when I worked at Wisconsin, we got Adidas shoes with the Wisconsin "Motion W" logo on them and Football specific shirts, never saw those up for retail anywhere.

Here is how I get most of my Wyoming stuff and how you can get custom Wyoming stuff. The drop down menu at the top shows the other season catalogs. I focus mainly on the football, basketball, and training catalogs. Just a word of warning, you would have to order most of this stuff blank and then get someone local to put the steamboat on anything.
