Oh my...what a fanbase!

A few years ago, I decided it was best to follow the "message board 48 hour rule" - don't post about a game for 48 hours. I don't always follow that rule, but glad I did this week!

Meh, it's not all that dramatic. The sunshine pumpers became the Kool-Aid enforcement corps, trying to shout down the less blindly enthusiastic and calling them names. Once I got Yank' to take me up on a Wounded Warrior donation wager things more or less settled down and got boring again...

1. Sunshine Pumper = positive advocate, defender of status quo, spin doctor, propagandist

2. Kool-Aid Enforcement Corps = group of fan(atic)s that make sure everyone drinks what the Sunshine Pumpers are pumping

Where do I fit? LMAO!

As far as where you fit in- sorry, didn't think to mention the irascible fan of Wyoming Athletics (as opposed to the fan of the coaches) who just wants to see a top ten ranking before liver failure is something to worry about...

No offense, but fans of coaches? So the guys who were happy with the win are only fans of the coaches and not fans of the athletic program as a whole....is this correct? I think 1988 was the last time we sniffed the top 10......In your opinion, what is it going to take to get back to that level?

In this context, it's meaning is more of stubbornly passionate...

See you Friday...

I think, on the whole, fans satisfied with our performance against New Mexico who are defending a five year status quo of poor defense and an unmotivated post-half team are speaking from a low horizon.

I think it's going to take a BCS AHC or an FBS HC with a very strong assistant candidate network to get us there. Someone of demonstrated executive ability who is able to inspire, motivate, and manage both players and staff. I also think we need to double our assistant and staff budget to get the coordinating and support talent necessary. :twocents:

Double?? Hell last time I looked, it might not be a bad idea to try to triple. I don't know if we did come up with the funding to do that if we would also have to go across the board (golf, swimming, etc).

Then again, if we could build a solid and consistent football program, maybe it would bring in enough $$$ to help pay for across the board increases. I don't know. Guess thats why I'm not AD.

Hell, you couldnt do worse, its a good idea. Lock a couple up and comers into a few years as coordinators, build a coaching tree with an older proven commodity that loves Wyoming (like Shyatt).
But thats a discussion for another time I suppose....
its sheep week, and I'm trying not to be irascible...

Well, I guess I should be somewhat happy we haven't sunk to this level yet...

Sometimes I wonder if people forget we only won 4 games last year. So far, we're beating teams we are supposed to (minus Texas State, obviously). Usually we don't.
