Senior Cameron Coffman will be Wyoming's starting quarterback when the Cowboys take the field against North Dakota in their season opener. Sports director Ross Jacobson and UW athletics beat writer Ryan Holmgren discuss what are fair expectations for the transfer from Indiana.
Jacobson: Coffman hasn't played a meaningful snap since late 2012. However, he's had more time to adjust to a new system than most senior transfer quarterbacks do. At the lowest expectation, he should be better than 2014 starter Colby Kirkegaard.
Holmgren: In 2012, Coffman completed 247 of 407 passes (60.7 percent) at Indiana. In 2011, he was 148-of-241 passing (61.4 percent). Last season, Kirkegaard finished with a 57.4-percent completion rate.
