Well, that one will help the Brandenburg standings.

Big win by the Pokes. This team has heart and plays good enough defense to have a chance in every game. Oh, by the way, did I mention we're still a young team.

Go Pokes!!

Good win!

Seems when I watch the Pokes, they struggle unless its the tail end of the game. When I don't, they tend to win.

Big win. AFA will beat a lot of teams in Clune.

I know Wyo fans hate hearing the "next year" speech over and over, but next year the team will be a lot better with only 2 players graduating.
Nance, Grabau, Cooke, and Hankerson will all be seniors. Adams will be a junior.
McManamen, Trey Washington, and Haldorson will all be sophomores.
Vernon will be a RS-Freshman.

If this team can make some real noise in the MWC this season, next year could be "our year".

But for now, this is awesome!
This team could go on a big roll right now.

I hope people continue to have patience with Shyatt. He's building this thing the right way. Since he isn't cutting corners, it might be taking longer then a lot of us would like, but we're definitely on the right track.

This year's recruiting class looks like his best so far. Next year he'll have new locker rooms, a practice court, renovated weight facilities, team meeting space, medical....The year after that(if Burman's prediction on the time line is correct) he'll have an entirely renovated AA to recruit to.

It's exciting though. This looked like it should be a down year and so far we're playing solid basketball.

I have been pointing to 14-15 for a while. On paper next year is our opportunity to really make some noise. Cooke's recent struggles have tempered my enthusiasm for next year a little bit as I still don't see an answer at the 4 for next year, plus I have become a big fan of Jerron Granberry. Wish we had him for more than one year. I think he is our 3rd best player.

You would have to think that the majority of MWC teams are going to lose at Boise and most of them will lose at AFA. The team is starting to look like they have some grit. I think the increased difficulty of our ooc schedule this year is starting to pay off.

It is exciting to watch. The team must be doing something right if two starters don't score, combine for 2 Rebs, and one assist and we still win on the road. How many minutes did Cooke have, and is Grabua okay?

Cooke started but he probably didn't play more then 5 minutes. The good news: at least he'll be fresh later on. I don't read to much into his lack of minutes lately. We've been playing teams with smaller posts. I think Larry likes to go four guards in that situation. He'll get minutes when we play teams with bigger posts.

Grabau was off. That didn't help. He's too good of a shooter to slump for long. He'll start putting them in soon.

How hard is it to come back from 15 against AFA on the road though? That and a win at Boise has me really excited.

I'm pumped for the Wolf Pack revenge this weekend
And that's exactly how the team should play it. They lost the game in Reno (vs. UNR winning it). They need to TCB in a big way on Saturday with a solid 10+ point win in a dominant performance with little to no lead-swapping. They do that, and this season might end up being a little special rather than pivotal. Still going to take at least two road wins and a good upset to deliver that kind of season though...

2 road wins? Boise and AFA....Done deal...

And in reality...so close to having 3 road wins and our upset over NM.

Ahh...gotta take care of business tomorrow!

As of today, two more road wins.

I think they should get Fresno on the road, and I will go out on a limb and say we are sweeping the Sheep this year so that is another road win. Also should be able to beat SJSU on the road so I see potential of 3 road wins. I also think the Pokes will have a very good shot at SDSU when they come to town since we always seem to find a way to beat them here in Laramie.

I expect the Pokes to win their road game at SJSU. I don't care how "dangerous" they supposedly are or how much "raw talent" they supposedly have, that is one very bad basketball team. There are very few road games that I expect the Cowboys to leave with a W, but SJSU is an exception. I would be disappointed if the Pokes can't pull that one out. Their next best shot at another road witn this season will be at Fresno State. It will certainly be a tough task, but they could win that game if a couple breaks go their way. Any other road win this season would really be icing on the cake.

I'm fairly confident in the Cowboys this weekend against UNR. The Cowboys are a better basketball team and will likely have the most electric crowd of the season behind them tomorrow afternoon. UNR is not as good of a team as their 5-1 conference record would indicate. Losing to UNR at the AA is not an option if the Pokes want to finish in the top half of the conference.

I have to say, I find it a little humorous that most posters are back on the bandwagon after a couple wins. It wasn't long ago some were predicting a bottom 3 finish for the Pokes this season. In reality, this Cowboys team has been miraculously consistent. Really, the only surprising result to me has been their win at BSU. I still think this team finishes right around the .500 mark in conference play and could be anywhere between 5th and 8th depending on how the breaks of the upcoming games go. Essentially, it's the same way I felt about the team heading into the conference schedule. Not much has changed.

So if Wyo ends up with 5 road wins, that means they will go 5-4 at worst in MWC play on the road.
And I am pretty sure we will get 5 home wins if we can get 5 road wins.

A win tomorrow will definitely help Wyo's perception as a contender in the MWC.
