Well, at least we're consistent.....

5 of our last 6 games we've scored 14 points or less. I don't know how many 3 and outs today. I lost count. I've read some posts that are very critical of our defense and defensive coordinator. I don't get it. The defense played pretty well until poor field position and an invisible offense finally weakened them. That's a Utah team that scored 68 points last week. I know they took their foot off the throttle in the second half but no defense can defend so many short fields on such short rest forever.

From a spectator standpoint, there is nothing more boring than an offense that does nothing. It's more exciting to lose 60-30 than 30-0. We've scored 53 points in our last 6 games. We are quickly becoming the most boring team to watch in the country. I practically think we've scored when we get a first down.

Maybe it was inevitable that we took a step backward this year. It sure is hard to watch. Just think, Heath and the bb team are just around the corner.....my cup runneth over.

our D didnt play to bad... they didnt play that bad against AFA or Texas either... just the fact that the O goes 3 n out every time our D gets tired and teams run points off late in halves against us... our O sucks and i think ACS has regressed

He certainly hesitates about throwing the ball downfield, to say the least.

I don't see this as a problem with our D. Sure they could be better, but we've held most of the teams we've played to under or right around their average. It's not like we're getting more points dropped on us than other teams. Big time programs score big time points. We gave up 30 on Saturday, but look at some of the point totals given up this Saturday by ranked teams.

#1 Ohio State 31 pts.
#7 Auburn 43 pts.
#10 South Carolina 31 pts.
#12 Arkansas 65 pts.
#24 Oregon State 35 pts.

Only one of them played a higher ranked team than Utah. Our problem is the O. They can't stay on the field. I can't blame ACS for this as some people are doing. Yes, I wish he'd throw the ball down the field and let the play makers make plays. These receivers have been catching difficult balls their whole lives, that's how they ended up playing D1 football. Throw the thing and let them get it. Who knows, they may catch it or get a pass interference. Maybe throwing the ball will make the other team's defense honest and open up our run game. Will there be more turn overs, probably? But I'd rather see 3 interceptions and a win, as Utah just had, than be so conservative we're scared to throw the ball anywhere where there may be a chance of it getting picked off. The few times we did it on Saturday we had nice gains. To me, this is a coaching problem. The play calling is garbage. If the OC is telling ACS to throw the ball and he can't or won't, then reconsider your options. It's not like we don't have a handful of QBs waiting in the wings. I feel he's doing exactly what he's told.

Now we're approaching the "easier" part of our schedule, but I fear we've been so conservative in these "un-winnable" games that our offense hasn't had the opportunity to find its rhythm and may have it's confidence shattered. To me, this is all about the coaching.

I wasn't expecting the team to be better than 2-5 right now but I felt that it would be a more competitive 2-5. I was hoping for another 6-6 regular season and maybe a bowl game, that I would have felt was an improvement over last season simply because of the schedule. I think our D will hold the rest of the teams we play, I just have this bad feeling that our O won't find itself.

I agree that the D has the ability to hold their own against the remaining teams, but the O... well... they need some work. It's been posted a few times that the offense looks like they play not to lose, and I agree.

Granted, if I was a football coach, I'd be doing that instead of what I'm doing. I also realize that yes, we've had a hard schedule, and yes we don't have all the athletes we need to really run the spread, and so on. But there's things I don't understand regardless. All of that other stuff aside, statistically, Wyoming has one of the worst offenses in the country.

Against utah we attempted 17 passes, and 38 rushes...for 67 yards. We don't have a good running game, and we attempt 17 passes against the 10th ranked team in the country... I realize game planning is part of it, but wtf? Like I thought the game plan against Air force was pretty good, and games like yesterday, I have no idea what the hell is going on. Its like they plan for the first quarter and make 0 adjustments thereafter.

On a personal note, I hate those little swing passes and laterals they keep trying to run several times for little or no yardage. The term "upfield" seems lost on the offense right now. Its definitely an area that shows we don't have the speed to run the spread yet, because everytime we try to stretch things to the sidelines, we seem to get buried. Thats just my opinion though.

I wish wyoming had a bye week this year. Not so much that I think an extra week would help them at this point as far as game planning, but just for the sake of regrouping. Mentally these losses have to have taken a little bit of a toll on some of these guys. But, they don't have one, so they better just sack up.

A year ago when Wyoming was in need of winning games to make the post season, guys started to step up and make plays. They need that again. Some guys on offense haven't really done shit - Aiken, Lester, , and Ogbonna seems to have disappeared. Time for those guys to start having an impact. I think all the players are playing hard, but I don't think all of them really play with urgency or with a fire under their ass, especially on offense. A lot of them just seem to play with a lack of intensity. If they all played with the same intensity, I think they'd be doing more. Right now, off the top of my head, it looks like ACS, and the Senior receivers (Leonard, Bolger, and even Burkhalter) play like they want to win. They don't just play hard, they act like they care.

If the pokes really want to go to the post season, time for all of them to grow a pair, and play like they have some balls. That's just me though.
