Somebody said it and I've echoed it...the Bohl era will be looked at with nostalgia. We are seeing the style of football that every other coach in Laramie since Tiller has produced....and now it's back. Awesome.

It was pretty clear after the ASU game that we were going to be a bad football team this year. It was very obvious that there was something significantly off in the program.

To be honest, I didn't even watch the game today. I knew we weren't going to win and couldn't bring myself to watch such a frustrating spectacle.

I know I'm beating a dead horse here, but this is a coaching staff problem. They just don't know how to run a football team. It takes so much more than tactical knowledge to be a good football coach at this level and Jay Sawvel does not have it. I'm sure the players love him - he seems like a genuinely good guy who has the players best interests at heart. But friendly head coaches being buddy buddy with the players is almost always a recipe for disaster. Players thrive when coaches challenge them. Being challenged is uncomfortable, and many times in the moment, the players hate the coach for doing it. But it breeds success and is necessary to be a competitive football team at this level of sport.

I don't know the logistics of how this gets done, but it is an ABSOLUTE MUST that we get rid of this coaching staff at the end of the year. We will never be competitive with this coaching staff at the helm.

Then why was he hired?
Polasek, both assiciate head coaches, and a national search all passed to promote an unknown DC that wasn't on a career track for hc. Coincidentally that's the only position the previous hc's son could even remotely be promoted to despite his now painfully obvious inexperience for the job.

I'm not sure fear of attrition rises to the top of reasons for hiring this crew.

Whatever the reason we lost today, it wasn't due to Aaron Bohl's defense. Idaho had less than 100 yards of offense in the second half and only 225 for the game. We gave the offense the ball in great field position over and over again and they did nothing with it.

So they hired him just to give bohls kid a promotion? Seems a bit of a stretch.

We'll see about d next week. Fcs with 2nd string freshman qb isn't a measuring stick unless you can't stop them. My opinion only

Maybe. I'm definitely in the minority on that view.
Burman publicly stated his concerns about a large number of players transfering out as one of the main reasons for picking sawvel. He was probably bohls recommendation too. But I doubt bohl had the final say in picking the new coach.

That's the only thing he could say that couldn't be fact checked.

In other words, I don't believe anything Burman says. Good or bad, he should be held accountable for this decision

That’s what I said last week. It’s the grab ass era.

Brand new to this forum but a long time Cowboys fan. I will look back on the Craig Bohl years with some nostalgia as I do the Tiller years. I thought he was a good coach and did bring back "Cowboy Tough" but it does seem like forever since we have had a truly potent offense to match the defense. I've thought about all the fun players that have come through Wyoming over the past 30 years. With NIL and the transfer portal, I just don't see it happening again. A university like Wyoming finds a diamond in the rough high school kid (like Isaiah Neyor) and he's gone as soon as he develops. The mid-major programs spend time recruiting and the big schools just take them as they please. I cannot imagine there will be another Josh Allen or even Josh Wallwork for that matter at UW.

Before the season started, I had really high hopes that maybe a new coach would bring some potency to the offense. Bought 7 good tickets for family/friends for the BYU game thinking that somehow, some way we might be going into that game competitive. With time off, airfare, car rental, hotel, etc., this ain't gonna' be a cheap trip. Aside from spending time with family and friends and maybe visiting West Laramie Fly Shop and the Buckhorn, I am actually really regretting making plans. I've seen the Pokes play in Florida, Michigan, Iowa, Colorado, Tennessee, Illinois, Ohio, Wyoming, etc. but I have no interest in making this trip.

I certainly wish all the coaches and players well. They seem like solid, good kids. But I do think it is becoming harder and harder to be a mid-major or small program fan. And that's not Wyoming's fault. I sense Coach Bohl was beginning to think of himself as a dinosaur (remember the "Quarterback Wanted" ad?) and needed to leave. Anyway, it will be good to see Laramie again in the fall, the trip to DIA on Sunday morning will suck, and Neyor will have a half-dozen more catches and probably a touchdown or two.
