We are going to win out.

I love the Pokes, but Stew Morrill doesn't lose in Logan. Can we? Sure. I'll never predict it but certainly welcome it. If I were forced to put my own money on it, I'm putting it on the home court.

What a bunch of negative nancies. I like the call, Duck. Will it be a challenge? Certainly. But if any team has the mental make-up to do it, it is this one.

Let's go Pokes...make them all eat their words.

Before SDSU, we were considering this team mentally weak because they couldn't close out a close game.

Haha this board is schizo.

I hope your speaking for a mouse in your pocket with that mentally weak bit. While I agree this board has some interesting fans I for one see an improved team over the last 2 years playing harder teams and winning more than we have. I would never call this team mentally weak, pretty much just the opposite the mental side of the game is where we are much stronger.

Anyway 4-3 I would be ok with but disappointed, 5-2 I honestly expect the team to finish that way and anything better is just gravy.

I agree. I'm not sure who said they were weak prior to SDSU, but if someone said that they have really not been paying attention.

Look, winning out would be unbelievable. I'm not saying it is likely. But it's much more likely than losing more than 3 games. Beating SDSU doesn't make this team world beaters. They are the same team they were before the win. BUT, it shows the fans what they are capable of, and more importantly, it shows the TEAM what they are capable of.

I can't wait to see what happens. I'm approaching old timer status because I actually watched this program win the conference, go to the Sweet 16, etc. I can tell by the posts on this board that many of you are young and haven't witnessed the Pokes doing anything of significance. I hope that changes soon.

The Pokes finished 4th in a 2-bid WAC the year the went to the Sweet 16. 3 teams got in that year, but it's only because Wyoming, who wasn't otherwise going to the NCAA tournament, won the WAC tournament.

especially with us going there for the 1st time in years (since 2008), the way our Pokes go is how "comfortable they are on the away court....sure hope we can steal it, as we know we can beat them(did already)

The only thing more predictable than the fans going from "We are awful the sky is falling" to "We are winning out" after a win, is that when people start pointing out how bi-polar our fanbase is, people respond with "I don't know who you are talking about no one has over reacted at all, it certainly wasn't me, I always thought this team was really good".

I think we should call it The Beaver Complex, or enigma, or conundrum....

Haha yup. All you gotta do is re-read the New Mexico, Fresno and UNLV threads.

All sorts of gems that are the exact opposite of what we are reading now.

So to get into 3rd, we need to win tomorrow, need USU to beat UNLV in Logan and need NM to beat Nevada in ABQ.

We will be tied for 3rd tomorrow if that happens.

I assume us, NM, and USU are going to be favored tomorrow.

Here at my local book USU is favored by 4, Wyoming favored by 8, and UNM is favored by 11. I think those are all solid lines and I don't really see any upsets, so the Pokes (if they take care of business) should be tied for 3rd by the end of today.

It looks like even if we win out our RPI is going to be around 60 which is still outside of bubble range, We have to win the MWC Tourny to get into the big dance. The only team that can win out and break into dance is Boise.

It's going to be an interesting ending to the season.

5-2 is my prediction.

Agree...here is what I have:

Sat, Feb 15 @ San Jose State (WIN)

Tue, Feb 18 vs Fresno State (WIN)

Sat, Feb 22 @ Colorado State (LOSS)

Tue, Feb 25 vs Air Force (WIN)

Sat, Mar 1 vs Boise State (WIN)

Wed, Mar 5 @ Utah State (LOSS)

Sat, Mar 8 vs Colorado State (WIN)

I would like to amend my guess now...dammit.

I think we beat Air Force, and only Air Force. Finish 9 & 9 in conference. Hope I am very wrong.

Time to move on....I think these guys will have something to prove. Each player will need to step up. If so, I still think there is an outside chance of winning out.
