Watch out for The POKES in 2013

The headline to the thread may be a bit misleading (I hope I'm wrong), but seeing how the ashes are still smoldering from the wreckage of the 2102 Pokes football Odyssey, at this point, as dispirited as I am, I need any kind of positive news from Fort Laramie.

Next year I don't want much, I only want a season opening upset of Nebraska in Lincoln (anyone wanna car pool with me?), followed by 8 more wins the rest of the way -- and the Mountain West Conference Championship.

Is this too much to ask?

I also was fortunate enough to find some tape of Kurtis Stineman.

Based upon this video he has great lateral movement, quick feet, and the ability to play either outside or inside depending on where the coaching staff sees him.

For a guy this big -- the kid has some nifty moves.

Interesting to see this as UW doesn't offer sports medicine anymore. Unless he actually wants to go on to an M.D. Program and is going the pre-med route.

While I don't think winning in Lincoln is something that is going to happen (but God I hope it does), an MWC title is something that should be EXPECTED by every Cowboys fan.

I really hope that we're looking for a new defensive coordinator right now. If we were to even have a mid level defense we'd be in good shape, and we need to stop having nap time at the half!

Well I don't think they can be much worse next year, so there's that.

The goal will be bowl eligibility.....everything is gravy. CDC has a bizarre trend going, of sucking when expectations are big, and doing well when everyone thinks the Pokes will stink.

That said, I'd expect 6-6 as of today. Way too early to tell though. Do USU, FSU, and SJSU keep their coaches? That would play heavily into whether those games are winnable. At least the OOC is softened up for CDC again.

Love the optimism, but considering the way this past season went, I'd be willing to bet most fans will take the wait and see approach.

im gonna go by trend and go plus one with the trend thats been set.

2009: 7-6 w/ new mexico bowl WIN
2010: 3-9 w/o bowl
2011: Regular season 8-4. 8-5 w/ new mexico bowl LOSS (PLUS one from 2009, could have been PLUS 2 if we won bowl game)
2012: 4-8 w/o bowl (PLUS one from 2010)
2013: Regular season 9-3 (PLUS one) or 9-4 w/ bowl LOSS (still PLUS one) or 10-3 w/ bowl win (PLUS 2)

Now im not trying to make any kool-aid, just want to point that out. Im just making a VERY, and i mean VERY VERY early prediction on 2013 based on our up and down trend with CDC, so next year should be an UP but there is no way to know and make somewhat of an alright prediction till next spring/summer
