Defense was the strength of last year's team that went 5-7. Is that the case this season, and if so, what areas on that side of the ball are the strongest?
North Dakota's strength will definitely be on defense where it returns most of the front seven from a defense that was statistically one of the best in the Big Sky Conference. The strongest position group is linebacker. UND plays a 3-4 defense and asks its linebackers to make a lot of plays. UND returns all four starters from 2014 (backup Jake Disterhaupt has passed 2014 starter Brian Labat as a starter on the 2015 depth chart).
