UW makes changes to o-line
LARAMIE (AP) — Wyoming used its bye week to make changes to its offensive line as the Cowboys prepare for Saturday’s game at No. 19 Utah.
Coach Dave Christensen said Monday that sophomore John Hutchins will start at left guard in place of junior Sam Sterner.
Hutchins started at right tackle in the season opener against Weber State and played in a backup role behind sophomore Clayton Kirven there in five other games.
Sterner had started all 31 games of his career at left guard. He will back up Hutchins this week.
The change comes after UW’s 10-0 loss at Air Force on Oct. 17. The Cowboys had just 174 yards of total offense and surrendered six quarterback sacks.
UW (4-3, 2-1 Mountain West) has given up 21 sacks this season.
