UW Club Baseball

So to further prove my point about UW baseball, even though my opinion doesn't matter, the team is going to it's 5th D-2 Club College World Series in 6 seasons.

5 in 6 seasons. District 8 Champions for the 5th time in 6 years.

And to those who don't agree with me about baseball being a small town sport, 12 of the 24 players on the roster have Wyoming highschools listed at their last school. 50%.
And there are 5 more players that have their last school as a college, so they might have gone to highschool in Wyoming.
12 for sure, up to 17 possible kids from Wyoming.

But anyways, the Pokes will be headed to Kentucky for the D2 Club College World Series again. Hopefully they can win it this time.

What are the eligibility rules for club sports? I didn't know the team was still here otherwise I would have checked into practicing with them this year.

I don't really think there are any rules, just as long as it is student, no faculty.
I've got a friend on the team who is listed as a sophomore, because this is his second year playing, but he is definitely not a sophomore academically.
I know there is a 5th year senior listed.
I think since it is club, and you pay your own fees and the students run it, there isn't an eligibility rule. Baseball club probably isn't any different than chess club. You wanna be in, you show up and are in ya know?

I imagine baseball eligibility is similar to how rugby is at UW. The governing body that the team is a member of (I.E. NCAA equivalent) will restrict eligibility for the "varsity" or A team. However, anyone else that is a student can play on the "B" teams. We had grad students and players out of eligibility that would still come around and play on the B team.

I messaged one of the guys through their website. It looks like the eligibility runs for six year from high school graduation. Next year will be my seventh year since I graduated. Too bad, but maybe I'll be able to give them some batting practice against a lefty.
