Update on the 2025 schedule

Wyoming just added Northern Iowa to the 2025 schedule thus completing the OOC part of the schedule. UW will pay UNI $400,000 for the game.

For anyone wondering what the schedule looks like in 2025...

Of course no return game to Laramie with CU. Similar to no game with ASU in Laramie.

No business going to Boulder without a game against the Puffs at home.

Thanks, Tom.

So we go back to UNM and Utah State comes here again?

And SDSU comes back here again. This year's schedule got messed up when we entered into the scheduling agreement with the PAC-2 and Boise State requested special favors to accommodate it and its ability to extract and extra $2.6 million from Oregon. Otherwise - this year's schedule would have looked a lot different.

Give Tom a break. He has to sell the soul to pay his carefully selected head coach. It may become the new norm playing in away games just for the money. It’s getting tougher to pay $400,000 for a home game when Tom turns on the coaching garbage disposal and feeds it big bucks.

Imagine if UW had to go independent in football. Maybe 2-3 home games and 9-10 bodybag road games but the income would look impressive.

As far as I know, I don't think Colorado has ever been to Laramie. They've always big times us.

I'm looking at my 2018 Wyoming football media guide now and...in the 27 times Colorado and Wyoming played each other, CU played in Laramie exactly 5 times. 1916, 1920, 1924, 1939, 1946. BTW, we're 0-5 against them in Laramie. Our only wins against them were in 1935, 1982, and technically 1997 since CU had an ineligible player in that game.

I didn’t realize it was that bad. It’s a shame we didn’t travel to Boulder in the Bohl years before Coach Prime. We would have handled them.

It's my understanding that for those 1916 - 1946 games, Wyoming and Colorado U. were both in the old "Skyline" Conference. Because of that, they would have alternated home games. After 1946. Colorado left for the "Big 7" Conference. When Wyoming, Utah, BYU and New Mexico left the Skyline Conference in 1960(?) to form the WAC with Arizona and Arizona State, Denver U. dropped football, and Colorado Aggies, Utah Aggies and Montana, Etc. got left behind. I could be wrong on this, but that's what I've been told by my father and uncles. ?????

I remember listening to a game in maybe 1997 on the radio. I was west of Saratoga hunting antelope but my buddy and I were listening on the radio. It was so much more important. Rick Neuhesel (whatever) was the coach. We literally had them! Something weird happened and we elected to punt on 3rd down or something. It was bizarre. Fumbled snap or something bad and next thing you know, CU was up by 4! Neuhesal went on to state "when you almost lose to Wyoming, you know your program is in trouble." Hated that tool ever since.

Fumbled punt return.

I was at that CU game. Although the school itself is too arrogant to come to Laramie, I do remember their fans were actually pretty friendly, even when we were beating them. We gave up a kick return for a touchdown and then just needed a first down to get out of there with a win. It was a fumble by Marcus Brigham that sealed our fate that day. On the way out of the stadium, there were several CU fans that said they didn’t deserve to win that one!
I don’t mind the Northern Iowa addition to the schedule. Having both CU and Utah next year, we needed another home “winnable” game. I sure hope today is a spotlight into the future and we can actually feel good about going into next season. Go Pokes!

So not since the War was built. Cowards.

This win was also vacated at the end of the year because Colorado had an ineligible player on the roster. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1997_Colorado_Buffaloes_football_team
