That McGarity kid would look very good in brown and gold. I like all three of these players. The CU kid and McGarity could really help

A big body would be good, but I want someone who can contribute at a very high level. Not saying he can't, but I don't have enough information about him right now.

I think those two would be the most likely. Wonder if Aka Gorski is helping Shyatt with the Magarity pitch?

Certainly can't hurt. I am assuming if we sign either of the transfers, were forgoing signing a big for this fall?

I'm not impressed with this list honestly. The fact we have all 3 of them coming to visit though tells me Boucher is pretty much done as far as him coming to Wyoming goes.

We need help in the frontcourt for next year and two of them won't be able to play right away and the only one that could possibly help in the front court would be McGarity. Dustin Johnson has potential to be a good offensive player but he wants to play on the perimeter and not inside so not sure what Shyatt would do with that.

Would rather they go after a senior transfer who can play right away.

The more I have thought about it, I would prefer someone like Boucher or a 5th year senior big who can play this fall. We have two interior players on our roster, TWO. Barnes and Herndon. While I think each will be a stud in their own time, I am nervous the learning curve is still advanced for them this season. We would greatly benefit from an experienced big man to help down low.

I will trust in Shyatt and Co. and they think these three can help, so be it. The McGarity kid does seem like he would be a good get for us either way.

Shyatt and the staff know what they are doing and I know all of these kids will become better players with Shyatt as everyone does under this staff but we will be so thin in the front court next year it won't be pretty. The year after though we would be looking pretty good.

I know Cowboy fans don't like hearing this, but it's possible Shyatt sees this as more of a development year.

Also, you're forgetting Naughton and Moemeka.

I didn't necessarily forget them, but A. I view them as more hybrid stretch players than true post players and B. Do you see either of them making an impact this year? I personally see at least one of them redshirting. I could very well be wrong, but thats where my comment came from

The kid from CU would be a very good get. Was offered by Colorado and Oklahoma out of high school and was a 3 star prospect. Would fit Shyatt well too because CU values defense as well under Boyle.

Johnson had trouble playing defense at CU and got into foul trouble a lot. He can be good on offense though but CU wanted him to play more down low and he wanted to play on the perimeter and that is why he left CU. Not sure what Shyatt would do with him. We need bodies down low and if this guy wants to play on the wing then it is kind of a bad pick up when we need more on the inside. I imagine Shyatt has a plan for him though and they will speak about it and if he is fit then we could land him. Maybe the kid just needed a change of scenery.

Well darn, I withdraw my statement then...hahaha.

I actually think Dustin Thomas has the most upside of the three although it's hard to compare a highlight tape of a late bloomer high school kid like Kupchak with a couple of players that I have seen play in high level D1 action.

Thomas picked up a lot of fouls, but it seemed to be more out of effort/energy and maybe being put in mismatches against bigger players. A redshirt year with Shyatt and I believe he could hold his own defensively although he will always be a tweener. He seems to have a high energy level and a nice mix of skills for his size. Just hasn't been able to put it together yet but a productive redshirt year could turn him into a MWC starter I believe.

I knew it would be tough to land an impact transfer big in the spring as they are ridiculously overecruited, but if we are going to sign a player that needs to sit a year I was hoping for a big time impact guy like Nevada did with Marshall or some of the other transfers that have signed in the MWC the last couple of years (Kidd, Williams at UNM, etc.).
