UNR @ UW

Shyatt has added a few wrinkles to the offense, a little more motion/movement tonight. 4900 showed up for one of the better played games by the Pokes... cmon man, this is conference play, what the hell else is going on in the gem city tonight!? Was in the AA at the end of the court where they called Cooke for the blocking foul on defense ... looked like a charge to me; anyone see it on TV? Sure looked like Cooke was in position and standing straight. Also, saw a few plays where Nevada was hooking on offensive drives ... the refs certainly heard my earful.

Props to you Tweak for getting to the game! I know the play you are referring to and Cooke did look like he had position, but it was close...and, ties go to the runner? :)

Leonard was a beast, Larry is back, Darius is doing his thing, and Josh is progressing toward "Awesome World". The Pokes are going to make noise at the MWC tourney with the boys coming off the bench!!!

Hey Fromel, yea, I know ... but that' seems like an excuse to me for a conference game crowd of 6-7 thousand. Not less than 5. It is what it is but I'm looking forward to when we get the AA back to where it used to be. Just gonna take time I guess. Thanks transplant ... man I was literally 15 feet from that play and it sure looked like Cooke had positon but may have been Poke glasses I was wearing. If we can get someone to do what Luke used to do--knock down threes with regularity--sure improves our chances for a late run. The Aussie showed up tonight though!

Student section and crowd were weak tonight, but it's to be expected after a horrible stretch of what, 1-6?
The Pokes played great.
We will take it to Fresno State, and have some confidence back, and that should get the boys ready for the SDSU game, the following Tuesday. That is a quick turn around though.
We got a win! Whoo! Time to make it 2 in a row! Then we can talk about 3, or more.

Btw...We are going to beat UNLV at home....they suck if they aren't in vegas...too bad the tournement is in vegas.

Fun game to watch tonight. Except for the call against Cooke I wasn't even upset at the refs tonight. They let both teams play for once

that was a good game from start to finish, sure hope they play that way against Fresno on Saturday, man this conference is still crazy!!!! Good win Pokes!!!!

This was a heck of a win for our Cowboys. We need to pick up some wins in the second half of conference and this was a good way to get going. Nevada isn't a top team in the MWC but a 20 point win against anyone in the MWC says a lot. Right now we need to try and get a top 5 seed in the tourney IMO. It will be tough. I think postseason is a lock considering everything and all the tournaments there are, but I would love to atleast see the NIT as we continue to build a solid program

I think they need to get to 6-10, 20-10. That would give the Pokes a RPI in the upper 50's or so (based on RPIforecast.com) going into the MWC tourney. I am not confident they can get there, but I think that sets them up for a NIT berth and would represent some progress from last year (from CBI to NIT) even though it represents a step back in MWC play (6-8 to 6-10, but in a tough league while losing a top player).

Not sure I see the light at the end of the tunnel though. Leonard is on a different level than anybody else on our team and I just don't know how we replace that next year. I like a lot of the pieces on this team (Nance, Cooke, Haldorson, and Adams in particular and I expect to add Hankerson to the list), but it feels like we might have too many complementary/solid players without those couple of top notch playmakers you need to break through.
