UNLV QB and RB Gone

I get what you are saying, but what about what's best for the fans? Without us, they will get nothing. NCAA needs to step in and regulate this shit!
The NCAA are the ones that created this shit with all of their bs regulations that they enforce only as they see fit (ie-only against small schools, not the powerhouses). We, the fans, need this to all blow up in their faces so we can get back to reality of college kids playing a sport they love while representing the university they attend.

The Sluka explanation sounds like utter BS to me. If you have an NIL deal or offer that you believe was breached, show me the writing. By turning the story into…well I don’t actually have a writing but an assistant coach told me…come on man. You’re a 5th year senior transferring to an FBS program, you know damn well to get any alleged contracts in writing. And you know damn well that an assistant coach cannot enter into enforceable agreements to pay players because that is a clear violation of NCAA rules. The collective(s) can enter into deals but the university cannot.

Was listening to a sports show today on SiriusXM College Sports (sorry, can't remember who it was) that stated that NIL is not "NIL". Name-Image-Likeness was meant to be a mechanism for college athletes to use their own NIL to broker sponsorship deals on their own as they saw fit. It has turned into a pay-for-play that has NOTHING to do with NIL. It's perverse and has ruined college sports until the lawsuits begin....Thank you UNLV!!!!

Look at university administrators and the pac bs. The universities need to check themselves before I get upset about a kid playing the same games. The whole damn system is rotten to the core. It starts at the top.

Yep. Pretty much needs to be made contracts, but that would make them employees, and the universities don't want that!

Especially since he had an agent. I would be hard pressed to believe the agent didn’t have something in writing and didn’t assure the money was received as per the contract. The agent wants his cut……

They're doing what they feel is best for them. I wish them luck.
Sure, but they shit all over their "team" and fanbase by doing this mid-season shit. Where did all the loyalty, pride, and ethics go? Oh ya, the out of control NIL.

I wonder if he had an agent when he first transferred to UNLV. I would be curious to know if most of these NIL deals are formalized in writing or are basically unwritten promises made by someone with the team or a booster to get them to enroll before the deal becomes final.

I’ll see if I can find it again. I believe the reference I saw was January of 2024.
