UND expects a loud atmosphere at Wyoming

On Thursday, music blared from speakers stationed in the south end zone of UND’s Memorial Stadium.

UND wasn’t trying to pump up its players. Instead, the intent was to get ready for a rowdy atmosphere on Saturday in the season opener at Wyoming.

Wyoming’s War Memorial Stadium in Laramie can house almost 30,000 fans and the school said on Wednesday that only about 5,000 tickets remained for the weekend matchup.

“You have to be able to handle it on the road, and we know they draw well,” UND coach Bubba Schweigert said. “The noise was a factor for some of their opponents last year. The guys have handled it pretty well this week, but it’s always different on game day.”

UND plans to bring 25 or more players to Wyoming who are making their first college football trip.

Lol I can't help but laugh and be cynical at this.

We draw well?

I guess compared to FCS schools, but relative to our own division we do not.

The thing that startled me was the claim that only 5000 tickets remain?

If I walk into that stadium on Saturday and see a sellout crowd I'll do a jig at the 50 yard line at halftime.

Wasn't the 30k number pre-Wildcatter?

Yes. We now hold 29,181. And with anymore renevations will probably continue to drop. Because we're WYO dammit! We like the small things in life. 33,500 was just too big for our britches...

Just like how we will need to rename the AA to the gymnasium-auditorium after this next round when they add the suites

Suites are off the table. They were unnecessary, anyway.

Video or it didn't happen.

Anybody have any idea if this number includes general admission/student seating? My guess is no. Which means if these 5,000 go unsold and the students don't fill the entire lower section of the East stands (which rarely happens, anyways) we'll be less than 25,000. Closer to 20,000 even...

we probably draw in the top half of the conference, which considering we have no people and haven't had much to cheer about the last 15 years is pretty decent. I don't have the numbers to back that up, but I would think we outdraw Nevada, SJSU, CSU, UNLV, Hawaii at times, USU at times, who knows how many people actually show up to SDSU games.

According to this, there are 4,449 seats left. Now after watching this for a couple of days, this number is not real time. It is manually updated. This could either mean this number is a lie or we actually have even fewer seats left.
