Turf

IDK about anyone else but it really bothered me that the turf is a deifferent color haha I know thats stupid but turf only lasts about 10 years when did we get it? the Griz got new turf after 7 or 8 I think, im sure Mr Titlest could help me out there but i wish our turf matched our Unis... Also looks like the War will have a new look once wildcatter is done, i think the bleachers behind the endzone should stay they looked sweet hopin more fans follow wyo with DC there... Go Pokes

Montana's turf was replaced after about 5 or 6 seasons, actually. It was REALLLLY worn out and it didn't make it through the entire warranty, so they replaced it.

I'm kinda with you on this though, the current brown/gold looks odd w/ the turf, but I imagine they are 5 years from replacing the turf at the War. The Wildcatter seats will be great.

Turf was installed prior to the 05 season while we still had the old "new" colors. I imagine it has at least another 5 years left in it, maybe longer.
Although it doesn't match, I think its ok. I think the gold we have now would be too bright on turf, so for now its ok. In the future better stick with brown and white.

i say we get a brown or a yellow field haha...even though i know the ncaa wont allow that.

CSU actually uses the yellow gold on their turf and I think it looks great

I was thinking the same thing. Can't they just go paint the prairie gold, game-day gold? I think it would look great.

well after thinking about it you guys are probably right with the gameday gold. But I don't think we can repaint that turf, its not paint, thats the color the turf is. Because of all those little rubber pieces in it, I doubt we could repaint it because that would spread everywhere. So we're stuck with it until they decide to fork up the 1 million it'll cost to replace. Which will be awhile. Another casualty of the dumb decision to change the colors 10 years ago, we ruined the new turf.

I think they could replace just those sections.. I remember seeing pictures when they installed the turf and all the letters went in like puzzle peices.

look how green the turf looks there it looks noting like that now we could be closer to new turf than u think

It does install in sections, however, I think it would all have to be replaced. Plus there's a warranty on the turf. So I imagine they'll update the colors when they replace the turf.
