Too think a few years ago, after L. Washington graduated,

a lot of people thought we would be in trouble down in the post. You know, the 5 star transfer from USC a few years back that could take over games and was dangerous down low? Or how about how some said we didn't have anyone that could fill the void after graduated? He was good, don't get me wrong, but Nance, I think, has far surpassed him. Leonard was almost solely a power player (he did it well, don't get me wrong), but with very little finesse. Nance can power, but he does so much more than that. Nance can also make FTs.

I remember he had his moments of extreme selfishness and this team is all about selflessness. I don't think Washington and Nance could both be stars and I don't think Washington would be happy being a role player.

The hard part with LW was consistency. He just wasn't someone I felt comfortable "taking over" a gam. Although he would sometimes. Lance needs to bulk up like LW and he would be a beast.

Nance seems like a heck of a nice guy. That goes a long way in being a fan favorite.

I liked Washington, but I don't miss him. He played reasonably selfish, and he had a bad attitude. He was damn good, for sure, but I wasn't longing for his presence the year after he left.

It was nice having a grown-ass man on the team, though ;)

Somewhere I saw a quote or comment that indicated that Washington was downright hostile to the other players on the team to the point that he might have been toxic in the locker room. That in and of itself would be enough to prevent a high level of success.

I think that Nance's game is different that L. Washington's and that Nance looks to be more fluid.

All of that said, I really do miss the serious muscle that we had inside when both Waddell and Washington manned our front line. I suspect that Adam Waddell would be a better fit for this team with his added height and his team-oriented attitude. Remember, L. Washington was only 6'7 and we had Waddell listed at 6'11".
