Been a while since I've posted.
But now is the time to add some swagger to a Poke win.
0-11, against ranked teams- our best game to date was opening at Nebraska. We've been squatters ever since. Zero improvement on D, thus far this season. We all knew it spelled disaster last year, and finally on the reality that DC is approaching the midnight hour, he releases his old bud Tormey.
On the sidelines for the CSU game, I noticed an Offense not in snych and a Defense that was not playing hard. Marginal improvement last game put us in a position to win. But turnovers killed the victory. My thought is the ending is near, and Brett may not be back for his senior year if we can't somehow resurrect this Cowboy corpse and drill the Dogs. He's a 3rd round pick, and with QB's checking out in the NFL this time of year his stock is rising. Not saying he doesn't love being a Cowboy, he loves being a winner more. No way this team should not be 7-1 or 6-2 right now with some decent coaching and personnel changes in last years off season. Christensen no doubt can script the O, but he may not be the answer for the job of raising the bar on performance for this University. This is more about US than it is about them, our opponent.
I don't like comparing Coaches and Styles, but DC is full of himself for unsound reasons. For this I don't think he makes it.
I flew back after that CSU game, home to Michigan - really pissed off about the performance of my ball club and the attitude that was displayed on that sideline. There was no Unity, no attitude, and ambivalence reigned in that game if you were wearing lemon bar uniforms. On that note, we should shit can those things and burn em' in effigy of a lousy performance. Jack Graham was strutting around CSU bench like he was the new messiah. Fuck him, and CSU.
Ok, IF we get some pressure on Carr like San Diego St (who barley beat NM at home), and lost to Eastern Illinois at home by a bunch; we can win this game. If we stand around with our hands on our hips and let our bankrupt secondary get scrambled with more than a 3 count, we will get toasted. Listen, fucking Hawaii had it's chances at home against these imposters, they are BCS material like Obama is a great president. They've survived two near losses with one missed FG and 1 blocked FG. Simply stated this win is attainable and I expect it coming off the execution of Tormey and Cain's dogmatic attitude about accountability. This shit is not rocket science; execute, give a shit, and hit somebody in the mouth. This Fresno team is not as good as Nebraska offensively, and we stayed in that game and should have won it.
So, here it is Pokes 50-48 Dogshit.
DeRuyter can kiss my ass and Brett is a better QB than Carr.
Pokes forever, and lets get a Coaching staff that can get us a MWC Championship; this should have been our year with the right personnel.

Where to start...eh I'll just let it go. There was so much shit that had been covered a million times. Have fun watching the Pokes upset Fresno and Boise in back to back weeks on ESPN.
I'm with you on a lot of this Johnywyo. I'd love to see more fire, and I just don't think Fresno is a good as their headlines. We can win this game. I just wish the weather was a little more cooperative, and not just to slow down their passing game, but also to make our coach re-think his own strategy.
I see what you are saying about Brett and the QB situation in the NFL. A lot of teams are looking and Brett has no problem competing for a spot. Plus he may have to play for a new Head Coach next season if he stays at Wyoming and that might hurt his future Sunday prospects. The scary thing then is that our new #1 already has asked to leave and his only real experience was one decent game in a lose. You can't really count his 4 completions in the other 5 games he played, as the opportunities were few.
Let's hope for a win tonight and maybe Beav is right that we then take it to Boise. I was expecting a close lowish scoring victory tonight, I can't take another high scoring lose.

So what I'm hearing is Thompson wants out? If that is true, not good... can't see how we keep these guys out of the endzone much. Rocky Long had time to prepare and San Diego got it done, almost. If JT wants to leave, don't see how we stop him. Kid has talent, and was a natural lead in to Brett.
