Say Wyoming and USU win their last games and end up in a three-way tie with CSU for 3rd, who wins it? USU and Wyo would be undefeated vs. CSU and 1-1 vs. each other.
WYO1016 said:I believe that CSU would be knocked down to 5th because of their head-to-head record vs. the other two. After that I'm pretty sure it goes off of overall record, making Wyoming the 3 seed and Utah State the 4.

Ties Between Three or More Teams: If three or more teams tie for a position, the combined record of each of the tied teams against the other teams involved in the tie shall be compared until an advantage is gained. If the multiple tie still exists, each of the tied teams' records against the team occupying the highest position in the standings shall be compared, continuing down through the standings until the tie is reduced to a two-team tie, at which time the procedure shall revert to the two-way tie-breaking procedure, until the tie is broken. If teams remain tied after all tie-breakers have been exhausted, the last tie-breaker when determining seeds for the MWC Basketball Championships shall be RPI, as determined by the most recent NCAA RPI available.

Meh, I don't think SDSU is the worst matchup for us. I would rather see them in the semis than facing Boise State. Marks is playing at an elite level right now and can carry his team a long ways. If we are healthy, we can defend the Aztecs and their offense is not great. I like our chances against them.jbeiermann said:We need whatever seed that does not make us see SDSU until champ game unless someone knocks them out before!

...and Utah State beat BSU in Boise....only to get whacked in Logan when they returned. I don't think Wyoming has faced this Boise State. UW got the post-Drmic injury hangover Broncos...at home. BSU is playing night and day better defense than the team UW played in January.laxwyo said:What are you smoking?
We beat Boise st and lost twice to SDSU. We match up better against Boise state.
I think SDSU is a better matchup for UW. That team only has so many baskets in them, and hasn't been the same since Polee had to stop playing. The Aztecs played their hearts out on D vs. this Boise, and still lost by double digits again...at Viejas. For the first time since 2013. Give them their due...nobody in the MW is playing as well as Boise is right now. If Wyoming were on this 12/13 stretch that Boise is on with a full season sweep of UNLV, New Mexico, and San Diego State, BeaverPoke would be on the verge of Final Four talk. :lol:laxwyo said:Yeah, but they still split as opposed to us getting whacked by SDSU both times.
True, but the first time around SDSU had Polee, a starter, and the second time UW was missing Nance. This team isn't half as good as they are now without Larry. I'm not saying it would be easy, just saying I'm not sure I'd say either team is easier to play. Wyoming is likely underdogs vs. both.laxwyo said:I don't know how you can say we match up better to a team that handed us twice without breaking a sweat. I agree that Boise is very hot and maybe they match up better against SDSU, but man, there was nothing positive about how we played against SDSU.
