At least for all of the Saturday games. If we want to keep Linder, we have to fill the goddam AA. If we want to keep Ike from the portal, some of the best things we can do is buy tickets and buy his jersey. If we want to keep this train on the tracks, we have to get our butts in the seats and yell our heads off. If we want to help make the case for an NCAA berth - no matter what happens in Vegas - the groundswell of support and inertia behind the program have to be unmistakable.
The Athletic Department needs to make a push just like they do for the opening game in football and push for sell outs to close out the year. Push seat donations for those that can't make it. Radio blitz. TV blitz. Get CJC board members on the phones to all FB season ticket holders and anyone else with ties to the program. Have Bohl man a phone or two. Put former Pokes on the UW plane and barnstorm this state with armfuls of tickets to sell in Lusk, Thermopolis, Powell, Evanston, Rock Springs, Newcastle, Big Piney and elsewhere. Let's leave no doubt with Linder, Ike, Maldo, the Bench Boys...everyone in the program...that they have a whole state behind them.
One of the best memories in my entire life was the excitement around the Sweet 16 run. I was a wee lad, but I remember it like it was yesterday. The statewide sense of pride, enthusiasm and unity was amazing. We could use healthy measures of all three of those things right now.
