This morning at breakfast in Florence, Italy...

So my wife and I are in Italy. I am, of course, wearing a Pokes shirt. At breakfast, a gentleman comes up and asks, "are you really a Cowboy?" I replied that I was. He noted he was UW class of 1961. In the piazza outside our hotel, eyes darted to the brilliant brown and gold...with several folks coming to ask if I went to UW.

I love being from Wyoming and the fact we are so remarkably close.

Go Pokes!

Me too...

Man, you bring back such great memories. I was stationed at Camp Darby near Pisa, Italy for four years. Florence is just an hour away and we made many trips over there. My tour in Italy was the best of my Army career and I miss it so, especially the Tuscany region. Enjoy. It's a very special place.

Tuscany is awesome. The wineries, the cured meats, and generally really nice people.

Been avoiding the forum a little (still frustrated with state of college football, NIL, Pac-2 crap, etc.) but had to respond. Went to the College of Law and attended law school for a semester in Florence (through University of San Diego) my 2nd year. Got married a few years later in the Palazzo Vecchio built by the Medicis. Followed the Tour de France for a honeymoon. Watched Armstrong take yellow over Jan Ullrich during a time trial stage in Grenoble.

Sorry, unrelated to meeting up with Cowboys internationally, but Florence will always be a special place for law school (we had fun!) and for getting married to a great woman (with nearly a quarter of a century and three great kids behind us).
