the good the bad and the ugly

The good: Brett Smith and Robert Herron had it going on! Hopefully Herron is healthy and ready to go next week. The offense overall didn't do bad considering that Texas was picked in the preseason to have the top defense in the big 12. We were in the game and if we conver that 4th down late who knows what may have happened.

The bad: Special teams was a little rusty. I hope the Aussie gets used to the speed of the game pretty quick, he had one decent punt the whole night but had some awful punts. The kick return game looked pretty ugly as well. We did kick a field goal, did block an extra point and put enough pressure on their kicker that he missed two kicks. So it wasn't all bad.

The ugly: The pokes defense against the run tonight. We were pretty awful, but this is likely the best running team we will face this season, so I will reserve ultimate judgement until next week against Toledo.

Overall I loved our effort and feel like this game was at least competitive which many people did not believe it would be.

Also for our special teams, they need to just take the touchback!! So many of those kickoffs they tried to run it and got horrible field position. It could be that Texas was just really good at covering the kickoffs but damn they took one to many of those out of the endzone

as they couldn't get much going. That might have more to say with the texas defense then it does the wyoming running game but I'm hoping for huge improvement in that area. I wouldn't mind seeing Galli back their again.

I think we have a solid back with Wick against a weaker defense he looks quick but we never really opened anything up for him. Much like Gray for Texas for all the hype the few plays he got he couldn't break anything because he don't have that same size he should have been running outside and not between the tackles and I see Wick to be the same style runner.

I'm excited for next week, Unfortunately I'll only be listening to the game I don't think we will have video coverage for that game but still excited for it.

You might look into Toledo and see if they stream the game through their athletic program. I'm sure their would be a fee but I wouldn't be surprised if they stream the game.
