The ceiling win wise

I'm definitely most worried about Josh's mental status. I was reminded of a certain game in '04 on Saturday where the quarterback had 7 turnovers. The season definitely changed shape after that game. Granted, we have no expectations this year, so there is a difference. I didn't like how NIU got clubbed by USF. Almost felt like a reality check. For that reason, I still don't think we get to .500 this year, but close. This team will exceed pre-season predictions, and god willing bring back the boot. Good call on the MW this year. Gonna be tough to watch.

Get to 3-1.

Then 3-5 in conference play is all that is required to make a bowl game. Complete phase 1.

Going at least 3-5 in MW play should be easy. I do see wins over Fort Fart and the Nevada schools.

But first things first....BEAT Cal Davis!!!!

This. 6 turnovers for a team is bad, but 6 for a player could be crushing. Josh completely fell apart in the 4th quarter. I hope he can get his head straight and get this thing back on the rails. He's really the only option we've got at QB. Smith isn't good, Garrett isn't ready, and Leppke and Spozr aren't anywhere NEAR ready.

Ya, agree. Reminds me of 2005 - Bramlet vs. TCU.

We now get to sit in the stands, and find out if Vigen is a better QB coach than Cockmaster was.

Dammit, you're right! 2005, thanks for the correction. That just made me realize I am 10 years removed from college. Ouch.

I couldn't figure out what you were saying, then I re-read the thread - I missed that point you made. You were absolutely right though - the season tanked hard after that game. And expectations coming off the Vegas Bowl win the previous season, made it even that much more difficult of a season to watch (as a fan) after that game.

It took me more than 10 years post-college to figure my shit out. You have plenty of time!

I'm 20 years removed from college as of now. Sadly I went to a half decent NAIA school in Oklahoma, East Central University. Only famous alum.......Mark Gastineau of the 1980s New York Jets.

Now that Allen had his Tin Cup moment and put 6 in the drink, let's see if he finish like a hero (the rest of the season).

Time to focus on getting to 2-1 against UC Davis and that's it. They've got a pretty potent offense, especially putting up 28 points and almost 400 yards of offense against Oregon. Bohl and Co. need to have this team ready to go and focused on a potent offense.

While we can not overlook anyone, don't get too worried about UC Davis putting up 400 yards of offense against Oregon. Oregon wins shoot outs. Last year they had one of the worse defenses and they picked up where they left off this year. Hell, a couple years ago we put up over 400 yards against Oregon with Kirkegaard leading the charge. I think UC Davis will get their points, but I feel we'll be getting a bunch as well.
