Thank God I am not a CSU fan...

A simple truth, for sure. But as I read their board (mainly to see how the Pete Thomas block move by "high fives" was playing), I saw some of the scuttle related to their new stadium. As I read, I noted that the initial delusions of grandeur perpetuated by Moonlight have given way to reality. As such, they are looking at scaling back the new stadium in terms of size and amenities. All of this is understandable - especially if CSU doesn't want a Cal-type problem paying for a new stadium based on ticket revenues for a fan base that is packing less than 20k in for games today. But I had to laugh when one of the flock posted something along the lines of "it may not be all we want now, but we can upgrade it later." Who goes into the construction of a flagship structure in the heart of a campus with hundreds of millions to be spent and says - "we're going to spend $200 million on a new, so-so facility and hope like hell we can make it nicer, later"? It would be sort of like saying, "let's build a 70 yard long IPF now, and add the other 70 yards later." Oh wait...

Poor Sheep...

I've read many of the readers' comments in the Coloradoan from past articles on the topic. Always grab a bag of popcorn when I do. It seems to me that the most articulate and well-reasoned responses come from the anti-new stadium people. The Larimer County League of Women Voters wanted to debate the issue with pro-stadium supporters on local television recently and couldn't find any takers. Watercolor renderings can only get you so far. Poor sheep.

Concerning Thomas: Based on comments in a Kelly Lyell interview, Bohl apparently complained to CS-ewe about the way his NDSU team was treated when they went to Fort Fudd and kicked some sheep rear a couple of years ago. It sounds like there isn't much love lost between Bohl and McElwain/CSU.

I'm also looking forward to seeing what Papa Shy can do head-to-head with Eustachy regarding Colorado HS recruits once the AA renovations have been completed. Will this give Papa Shy an edge on certain recruits here and there?

The seating capacity keeps getting smaller and smaller. It started at 45k. Then was scaled back to 40k with the ability to upgrade to 45k. Last I heard it's all the way down to 36k with the ability to upgrade to 40k. Wasn't hughes around 36k?

I think you have to look at it as on campus and newer amenities something you couldn't bring to Hughes no matter what you do.

agree....new stadium...on campus..even if the same size will be large improvement and lead to more student attendance

The fact remains Jack Graham has more vision and initiative than our beloved AD. The on campus version for Rams Central is the right thing for the school, conference. Think of it as a new spanking ground for the ewes et al, with a destination for Cowboys to pick a couple good fights in the stands and on the field. I'm not sure the community at large in FoCo can put down their bongs long enough to rationally put this deal together. Who cares beyond that?

It's all about the drive behind the vision, Doesn't matter how much UW wants to change if there is no drive to change and we do not have that right now from what I have seen over the last 10 years because nothing has changed since we created the MWC.
