Didnt porter gustin's parents both play sports at wyoming? Be nice to see a 4 star alumni's kid take a chance in Wyoming football when Wyoming took a chance on them and gave them scholarships
Would be awesome, but like Cornpoke said, according to some it would be a terrible idea for him to come here no matter what, and then we can bitch about how we never do very well and wonder why.

According to some of you. No athlete should ever choose Wyoming. We should just all congratulate these kids for not choosing Wyoming. Then at the same time complain and wonder why Cowboy football isn't better. Christ, the logic of some people....

That's beavers logic. And he's now beaver, not beaverpoke

:orly:

Where did I ever say that?
I pointed out why a kid with offers from half the Pac12 would be wise to get out of Southeastern Wyoming.

And funny, that "no athlete should ever choose Wyoming" mostly applies to football right? And interesting how almost every kid with multiple FBS offers sees it that way too.

According to some of you everyone should not go to Wyoming because it has little to offer culturally, educationally or athletically. The way some of you talk I am confused why you root for Wyoming or post on this board.

And to think beaver used to be the biggest sunshine pumper on here.

I'm generally disappointed with the level of pride for our state and university on this board. It's disappointing because I thought that I would find a bunch of die-hard Wyoming supporters on here.

I am a die-hard supporter, I have just changed my tone from optimist to critic because time after time after time UW has failed to deliver any sort of acceptable results on the field. We continually finish towards the bottom of the conference in football and have only recently started competing in hoops again since the McClain era.

My frustrations come with seeing 12K in War Memorial on a friday night game, then hearing about the fucking population for 10000000th time. There are so many excuses/reasons that we can't get a damn packed stadium and a quality football team. It's ridiculous. I am just ready for Wyo to win, the fans pack the place, and neither administration or fans have excuses. You know, kind of like successful athletic programs.

Not quite sure what you are looking for. There are a lot of die-hard supporters of UW on here. But being the fans we are, we have been snake bit as of late. I know I, for one, am a critical thinker of a fan. I am critical of our failures and our areas where improvement is needed. I enjoy and celebrate our accomplishments, but am disappointed that there are not more of them. That's another aspect I enjoy about Wyoming fans is that we don't have a lot of ignorant, outspoken fans running around spouting how Wyoming is the best team in every sport. There are certainly some that will defend the University as a whole and the state to their last breath, and I count myself in that category. But I'll be damned if I'll watch us suck ass and just take it with a smile on my face.

If you want to be around a bunch of ignorant, outspoken fans who think their team is the best thing ever created, go to a byu or Broncos game, but you won't find that here.

If discussing legitimate issues facing our program is making excuses, what should we talk about? The population concern is not opinion, it's fact. If we had 1,000,000+ within 100 miles of the stadium it would be packed. But we don't, and it's not. You can Beav it up all you want, just because you think Wyoming should sell out every single event we have doesn't mean it's realistic. Plus, you left. You don't get to bitch about the fan turnout. We're here.

The more I read your thoughts the more I am liking where you are coming from. The explaining away by many on this board is more than a little bit confusing.

Let me be clear: If you are not for Wyoming 100% then I don't have time for you. This is not to say that there are other schools that are of high quality...but the emphasis here on how its so much better elsewhere is ridiculous.

Good luck to Tevis Bartlett, I guess, or to anyone else who chooses not to come to Laramie. Point is I wish you no ill will...but on the other hand you aren't wearing Brown & Gold so you are not a member of my family...and for this reason you are out of sight and out of my mind.

First step to fixing a problem is realizing you have one. Insane that some think we are on par with WA. I guess WYO looks great if you have your head in the sand.

I would argue that diehard sunshine pumpers are more harmful than good. It allows mediocrity to prosper.

Thank you for your common sense.
