I throw a pretty good sized tailgate every game in the grass along 22nd street in the Summit View lot. The only run ins I've had with the cops were them stopping by to remind us that we couldn't have an open container after halftime.TheCup said:WYO1016 said:I heard they want to move it closer to the stadium and summit view lots to be closer to the tailgating scene there.
That's funny. When we were throwning big tailgates there the AD's hired security firm and the LPD did everything they could to make life miserable for us. It got to the point we just stopped last year.
There was a regular tailgate next to us in the Stadium Lot that some of the college kids did. At one point the jackboots got so overzealous that an LPD guy shot his taser at one of the kids. He missed and the kid, rightly, took off running and got away.

I've never had any issues along 22nd street either. I enjoy being there, and will be there again next year next to WYO1016
I totally agree.Cowboy Junky said:I thought the tailgate was more fun in the parking lot than at tailgate park anyway. It certainly was for the bigger games: Texas, Nebraska....
It's a good idea to move it to the IPF. The party will be set up right in the center of our athletics facilities. When the AA renovation is done, that area between the IPF, Rochelle, the AA, and the northern entrances to the War is going to look incredible. We might as well party right in the middle of it.
The practice field/tailgate park is kind of out of the way. It's behind a hedge row, so you can't see the party from the street.
I like the move.

They changed it this season. Now it's no open containers after the 3rd quarter.MrTitleist said:...no open containers after halftime? WTF?
