With all due respect...this concept is so overused and over played. Why don't we have someone sell some car window decals with Calvin peeing on a stalk of corn while we're at it.

Shirt: Fail.

Honestly couldn't agree more. I was shocked (for many reasons) when I saw it. What a horrible attempt at trying to squeeze more dollars out of UW fans.

As Ben's buddy above pointed out as well...supposed to be a "gold out" and they sell brown shirts? Huh?

Which on-campus group is going to sell the Nuck Febraska shirts? I heard it is going to happen as well...how lame.

How about one with Pistol Pete and Herbie in a showdown, Pete holding a Colt Peacemaker, Herbie holding a corn cob? Verbiage- "... Corncob to a Gunfight..." "...brought a Husker, we brought a Cowboy..."

How about one with Pete slicing the numbered kernels off a husked cob?

How about one with a scatological witticism regarding corn's digested appearance?

How about another scatological one regarding cornhusks' utility in the jakes?

How about one about cheap beef being corn-fed?

How about one about Cowboys ride bulls while Huskers husk corn?

Where is the friggin' creativity?

:brick:

How half-assed...

The bookstore is selling a shirt with pistol pete riding on a tractor plowing corn with cobs flying everywhere. It says something to the effect "time to plow the corn." I don't remember the exact verbiage.

So lemme get this straight. Some doofus completely unconnected to Nebraska writes an article on an online rag and someone here claims it's actually posted in the Wyoming locker room, but the official website of Wyoming Cowboy football sells a shirt that says "Screw Nebraska," and that's OK?

I sat around Wyoming fans in Memorial Stadium when you guys gave us a hell of a game in 1994. My memories of your fans are way better than this. I know you guys are cool, knowledgeable and respectable/respectful. This is just weird.

wrong thread... :brick:

No, I'm responding to the fact that your Athletic Department is selling these T-shirts. This is the correct thread.

The correlation is that you all feel disrespected by that "article" which had NOTHING to do with the University of Nebraska, the players or the fans, but you promote this t-shirt as if it's perfectly OK.

I see a lot of posts on this site griping that Nebraska doesn't respect you guys. Do you think having your athletic department sell a t-shirt like that shows respect?

Oh, well why didn't you say so? All is magically better now.

For the record, I didn't like that article, either. Not only is the guy a bad writer, but he's not very clever.

Now that we have that all cleared up, where do I go to find out about the Cowboys? What am I going to see this weekend? I won't be able to attend the game, but I'd love to. I drove through Laramie in 2000 on my way to the west coast and made a point to drive by War Memorial Stadium, which looked quite picturesque. If I remember correctly, I seem to recall driving there on a wide, tree-lined street that seemed quite pleasant. Is that correct?

if you plan on being in laramie:

tailgate park just south of the stadium will be open for the whole game with the game playing on a jumbo tron...entrance is free and there is beer and food from various local merchants

what do you want to know about the team? we'll gladly answer any questions

Anything you can tell me. What kind of offense you run, how much experience you have at key positions, anything. I know vaguely that you run a version of the Spread, that your HC was at Missouri within the last three/four years, and.... that's about it.

Should start a new thread, like a primer for your Husker visitors. Anything you want to know about Nebraska I'll be glad to share, too.

A new thread for this is probably easier - could be stickied for all visiting fans.
