Volleyball Begins Friday. . .
There is a lot of excitement and anticipation for the Cowgirl volleyball team as it opens its 2012 season this week with the UniWyo Wyoming Invite. San Francisco, Eastern Washington, Presbyterian College and Seattle join the Cowgirls in the tournament. Seattle and Presbyterian College open the tournament on Friday at 9 a.m. San Francisco meets Eastern Washington at 11 a.m., followed by Wyoming vs. Presbyterian at 1:30, Eastern Washington and Seattle at 5 p.m. and the Cowgirls vs. San Francisco at 7 p.m. Wyoming's matches on Saturday are against Eastern Washington at 1:30 p.m., and Seattle at 7 p.m. Season Tickets are available for only $40, and individual game tickets are $5 for adults, and $3 for youth ages 3-18. Don't miss a match this season.

Soccer Continues Homestand. . .
After splitting its opening weekend-- losing to Montana and beating Lamar--the Cowgirl soccer team returns to the pitch at the Louis S. Madrid Complex to meet Montana State-Billings on Friday at 4:30 p.m. This Friday and every Friday this season is Family Friday. Come watch the game and enjoy dinner on us. 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs, and 4 Pepsi's for ONLY $16. Also don't miss the always popular petting zoo which will be set up from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. for this Friday's game. The Cowgirls hit the road for the first time this regular season taking on Weber State at Ogden, at noon on Sunday, August 26.

This is the Week. . .
The annual X's and O's Women's Football Clinic is coming up this Saturday in the Wildcatter Club and Suites. The event begins at 10 a.m. Cost is $50 per person, and tickets may be purchased through the Cowboy Joe Club (Suzy Taylor at 766-6242). A brunch, door prizes and a football information session with the Cowboy football staff all are included in the price. Proceeds from the event go to the Cowboys for Kids ticket program.

The Dave Christensen Radio Show presented by First Interstate Bank & Laramie GM Auto Center will begin its new season on Monday, August 27 at 6 p.m. The show, hosted by Dave Walsh, can be heard on the affiliates of the Cowboy Sports Network live, or in person at Altitude Chophouse and Brewery in downtown Laramie. It will highlight Coach Christensen, one assistant coach and two players weekly throughout the season. Fans are encouraged to log on to www.wyomingathletics.com and click on the Ask the Coach Button to ask Coach Christensen questions that will be read live on the air.
