It's Here. . .
The fall sports seasons are upon us! That is always exciting. The Cowboy football team reports tomorrow with the first practice beginning Thursday afternoon. By the way, the practices will be closed to the public, but the scrimmages will be open. The Cowboys' first scrimmage is set for next Tuesday, probably in the morning.

The Cowgirl soccer team is reporting today, and will begin its first practice tomorrow.

Wyoming's volleyball team reports on August 8, and begins practice on the 9th, while the cross country team reports Sunday, August 14, and members of those squads begin practice on Monday, August 15.

Media Day for all of the fall sports is set for this Saturday (August 6), beginning at 3 p.m. for the public. There will be a media luncheon and media interviews prior to that, but the public is welcome in War Memorial Stadium at 3 p.m.

Around the Chutes. . .

The UW Ticket Office is still selling season tickets for the 2011 football season, but there is a limited number available. If you are interested, please contact the ticket office as soon as possible (877-WYO-FAN1) or log on at www.wyomingathletics.com.

The annual Wyoming Football Kickoff Luncheon presented by Wyoming State Bank is scheduled for August 29, at Laramie's Hilton Garden Inn. Lunch will be served at 11:45 and the program will run from 12:15 until 1 p.m. Emceed by The Voice of the Cowboys Dave Walsh, the event will feature Head Coach Dave Christensen, his staff and selected student-athletes. Tickets are priced at $15 per person. To reserve a 10-person table ($150), or for more information, contact Ron Adelson at (307) 766-5018 or [email protected] by August 24.

In conjunction with Media Day this Saturday, there will be a Kids Club function in the picnic area at the south end of War Memorial Stadium. That event will begin at 1 p.m. If you have a youngster who would like to join you may do so on Saturday, or visit wyomingathletics.com or call 877-WYO-FAN1.

An X's and O's reminder, the second annual Women's Football Clinic, hosted by the Wyoming football staff, is scheduled for August 27, at 10 a.m., at the Wildcater Suites and Stadium Club. The event includes a lunch and plenty of football talk. Cost is $50 per person and ladies may register by calling the football office (766-3155) on online through the Cowboy Joe Club.

Look for your season tickets and parking passes in your mailbox during the week of August 22. The tickets and passes will come to you in two separate mailings. So if you get one mailing, the other will be on its way.

Other than UW-sanctioned events, War Memorial Stadium is closed to the public while the university evaluates its safety policies. We thank everyone for their cooperation.

Cowboy Joe Club News. . .
