Berryhill to Head Track and Field Program. . .
Wyoming has hired a national champion to lead the track and field program into a new era. Bryan Berryhill was a two-time national champion and 10-time All-American in cross country and track while competing at Colorado State. He was named Wyoming's new track and field head coach on Monday. Berryhill won his national championships in the indoor mile run and the outdoor 1,500-meter run. Both titles came in 2001. He still owns five individual and three relay records at CSU. He also competed professionally as a track athlete following his collegiate career.
"I was blown away by the support the track and field program receives," Berryhill said. "Everybody is behind making the program successful."
Berryhill has been the head cross country and assistant track coach at CSU since 2006. In 2007 he was named Women's NCAA Regional and Mountain West Conference Coach of the Year after the CSU women won their first-ever MWC team title and the NCAA Mountain Region championships in the same season.
Wyoming's new head coach believes he can make the program strong in his specialty, the distance events. "From a distance running standpoint, with all the running trails and the altitude, that should be a phenomenal advantage. That was really attractive to me as well."
Berryhill has a bachelor's degree in forestry from CSU (2001). He and his wife Toni have three children, Libby, Eli and Lainey.

Football Trips Won't be the Same. . .
Tom Stephens was a long-haul trucker, but he became so much more to the Cowboy football team. Tom drove Wyoming's big rig, loaded with equipment, to all Cowboy road games. Sadly Tom passed away last week. He and Equipment Manager Mad Dog Aanonson traveled together for 12 seasons making sure all of the Cowboys' equipment made it to the stadium safe and sound. Through those 12 years they logged millions of miles. . .places like Florida, Washington, Syracuse, Virginia, Mississippi, Tennessee, Texas, California and Ohio. Stephens wasn't just a truck driver, he helped Dog and his student equipment managers load and unload equipment. If Dog needed someone to hand out towels, Tom would volunteer. "When you sit in a truck for three days with someone you really get to know him," Dog said. "Tom was like a second Dad to me. He really loved that job. I think it was one of his highlights." Dog plans to have a tribute to Tom painted somewhere on the truck. We're all going to miss one heck of a truck driver, but an even better guy!
