Camp Season Underway. . .
With June, and hopefully nicer weather on the way it's the camp season at UW. During the month of June, a total of 19 camps for football, basketball, swimming, tennis, soccer and wrestling will be conducted. Please consult the UW athletic website for specific information on the various camps being offered.
Cowboy Joe Club News. . .
The golf series takes a break for the Memorial Day weekend, but resmes Saturday, June 4, at the Golf Club at Devils Tower. That event tees off at 1 p.m. Then on Monday, June 6, the tour will return to Worland to finish the previously-scheduled event at the Green Hills Golf Club. Poor weather conditions forced postponement of that tournament which was scheduled for last Saturday.
A reminder to all members, June 30 is the deadline to pay pledges in full. In order to receive parking benefits, tickets ordered for the Nebraska game, and other available benefits, an individual must be in good standing by June 30.
A save-the-date reminder for the Club's auction which is scheduled for the Friday night of the Nebraska weekend (September 23) at Little America. The crown jewel of the Club's events, the Cowboy Joe Club Auction will begin at 5 p.m. on the 23rd.
Trail Boss and Top Hand members have until Friday (May 27) to exercise their option for Nebraska tickets. They are eligible for six additional tickets. The Wrangler level will have the group to receive the opportunity to purchase additional tickets for that game beginning on Tuesday, the 31st. That level will be able to purchase four additional tickets. A reminder, the Athletic Ticket Office will be closed on Memorial Day but will reopen on May 31st at 7:30 AM. These offers are all subject to ticket availability.
New Season Ticket Allocations Begin This Week. . .
The UW Athletics Ticket Office is beginning to allocate seat locations for new season-ticket holders this week. If you are a new season-ticket buyer, expect a call from the ticket-office staff to go over options regarding your seat locations. As of this morning the season-ticket sales count for Cowboy football in 2011 was 9,208. That is almost 1,000 more season tickets than the previous record set in 2009.

UW student-athletes have been earning post-season recognition. The Cowboys' junior center Nick Carlson is one of 42 football players named to the Rimington Trophy Watch list. The Rimington Trophy is named for former Nebraska center Dave Rimington one of the greatest offensive linemen in collegiate history, and is awarded to the nation's top collegiate center.
A total of 13 Wyoming track athletes have qualified for the 2011 NCAA West Preliminary Round in Eugene, OR., which begins Thursday.
Gabe Maier, Wyoming's outstanding senior golfer, finished in a tie for 24th at the NCAA Regional Touranment last weekend.
Cowgirl senior diver Allie Smith has earned Capitol One Academic All-District VII Women's at Laramie First Team honors. Smith is a two-time All-Mountain West Conference performer in the one-meter and three-meter events. She has been an Academic All-Conference and a MWC Scholar-Athlete throughout her UW career.
The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) has selected two Cowboy student-athletes to its 2010-11 All-Academic team. Congratulations to Cole Dallaserra and Joe LeBlanc for being honored.
